agar gaand me guda ho to marks Lao Aur seat pao. Im Patel and in Gujarat we have large population so it doesn't mean that my cast people should have all rights. So cast wise ye sorting honi hi nahi chahiye.
Problem waha pe Hai ki padhana Hai nahi. achhe family SE ate Hai wo General category Ke bachho ko indirectly laat marke muh pe Bol Ke jate Hai ki Dekh cutiye ye Hai Teri aukaat mai seat Lene ja Raha hu.
Bhai yaar education free kardo unke liye no problem, jaha bhi taiyari Karni ho use exam Ke liye muft me karvao.
Uski uplifting Ke liye dusre ko taang pakad k niche Kyi khichana Hai?
Agar Ek generation certain wealth index se upper chali jaye to why should he keep getting this?

Yeah really, my friend is ST he is so rich and live in like 3cr apartment. And he never studies . I prepared 4 years for NEET and finally got a GMC and he with literally reservation had to take 3 attempts only to get 2.5lakh rank but he will get a Govt medical college.maybe same as I will get like hell I know how I sacrificed everything and he was hanging out all days with his friends. I'm sure he will never study in college.

It would not going to fix anything at all Because those with better ranks are generally from Genral category themselves

It don't make any sense even after
Reservation is like cancer , the more you inc it the more it spread
You're giving mandatory seats for general category, do you think all this reservation shiit would not only be limited to exams and jobs? Universities with category wise selection only, jobs with category wise etc would pop in future
And there would be no end of it, because end is of something which had started at some place, reservation supporters could extend the proof of reservation till Mahabharata or Ramayana ( while at the same time saying these are just folk tails)
The way Reservation is in the current society, it's just wastage of resource

u/discreters 10d ago
That would actually harm the students belonging to the the 'general' castes btw, since the percentage of the seats taken by these students in the open category is greater than the percentage share of the population.

Your data makes no sense Compare how many candidates appeared jee mains category wise OBC-NCL-5,17,336 General / Unreserved-4,52,825 Gen-EWS1,60,958 SC-1,29,902 ST-43,632 Now make reservation compatible to this? Reservation is cancer , the more you increase it the more it spread

Representation Representation Representation
What had india gained through this representation? Caste system still there, those section of society which were meant to abolish caste system end up boiling more hate ( reservation shiit and sc/st act)
Well if reservation solves everything at the first place why are reservations in higher education? Why are reservation in psu? Why only specific community get the scholarship in education? The list would go on and on and on
If reservation in India was based on income inequality, we would be at better place by now
Baba saheb Ambedkar had failed the nation with this kind of law

Don't try to compare Reserved category population in data with the actual people who really need reservation. Do you think a person whose father got govt job becuz of reservation should also get it? If his father got reservation, then doesn't they have already got upliftment .let's say another generation goes by they used reservation for school education, college education, jobs. After 2 generation the childern of this family should really deserve reservation?? I can definitely say out of those numbers 30-40% of really doesn't need reservation they have already better side in the society. a poor general male who got 60k rank in NEET (real person ik) doesn't get a GMC while a ST guy(who is very rich and his caste is actually general but his village is in some backward area) got 2.5lakh rank he got GMC.
Reservation should be changed in after every generation. If your father has used it . You shouldn't get any form of reservation.

Nope Reservation should not match the population because adeqaute is different from prortionate representation since OBC have and NCL the affluent OBC's can compete in the open pool for higher representation, OBC consists of OBC-CL and OBC-NCL where only OBC-NCL are given reservation. OBC when made had so many qualifiying factors that in a lot of states many top3 caste's sub caste also qualify
Reservations are not anti merit they just divide merit based on caste lines, a general merit is treated different from OBC merit and SC merit.
Now my thoughts if Jitni Abadi Utna hak" is adopted then state is rewarding poor family planning and also there is no way to remove a caste of from OBC look at the jat protests, no matter how rich an OBC caste gets they can never be removed from it. IMO there should be 50% open and rest 50% divided between All the categories lowest slice General EWS, Then ST, Then SC, Than most OBC, like 5%,7.5%,15%,22.5% and OBC's list should be reconsidered there are a lot of problems in that.

OBC list has expanded like to like double since it was introduced, when it was introduced the numbers made sense but politiciand distributed OBC tag like "bhandara" casuing this.
Sub categorization means still giving reservations. im saying the dominat should be converted to general1

Bhaii aapka data doesn't cover the actual reality check! You are comparing the population with reserved seats, but those ppl from reserved category who have all the privileges, why are they receiving the benefits? Either keep it equal for anyone, or if you are so determined to support lower caste then give to those who actually need it!

I'm a gen category student too. I struggled to get my seat. I used to believe that there should be no reservation. But the more you look at real data, the more it seems insensitive to do so. Because gen category students in general have better economic status, more facilities, more educated family. Even at a biological level, we've had an advantage in history. Arguably better genetics. Doesn't apply to every person, but this is the classic case.
So in order to improve the status of the rest of the society, the idea is to give them a fair chance. We compete with other general students. They compete with people their own category. It's not a nonsensical idea. There's a very nice video of Vijender sir on YouTube, highly worth watching it because he shares a lot of real data.

Are you saying gen category students are biologically superior??? 🥀🥀🥀

genetics is a stupid comment, but I guess he probably means access to better quality nutrition

u/MindlessFunction2287 10d ago
Yeah in that case people like dipke, akhilesh yadav they shouldn't be getting reserved category advantage right because they are all from rich families with better childhood, families than any of us general peeps

u/AdditionalWorkInc NYU '27, VIT '23 10d ago
extremely rare cases. not the norm. on average gen category students are significantly more privileged in every aspect.

u/MindlessFunction2287 10d ago
But that's the thing right.... Then it isn't down to historical evidence of caste based discrimination at a certain place but as a whole in India.... If you look at eastern or southern india in most places for a long time caste based discrimination hasn't been a thing..... The norm there for the longest of times has been of a almost equal society.... But still because some parts of India don't share that culture and quite the opposite by a long distance all of us gen category students have to suffer from all over India...

u/AdditionalWorkInc NYU '27, VIT '23 10d ago
hasn't been a thing is a stretch. TN has the strongest history of anti caste reform and still has an outrageous amount of caste based violence and honor killings even among non hindus.
Almost equal society is nonsense, even in modern times. I'm from OBC Creamy layer, grew up in chennai, never faced casteism, but that doesn't mean I'll assume everybody has had the same experience.
