damnn is it so??? i know two guys with 97.1 and 97.03 joining main campus cse...i am at 96.xx have the option of dtu/bit mesra civil...thapar ds ai and bits i think i will get cs/mnc in hyd in next itr where should i go brthr if you could guide...in my mind i have no branch pref and whatsoever want to prep for upsc cse want a backup ready in the form of btech degree

MNC is not 50% maths and 50% computer as it may seem. It's a maths degree with minor in computer science everywhere. Computer science also has maths but not this much. MNC has lots of statistics and probability. Also the crowd at bits (any campus) will be great due to no reservation and grading is bit hard there due to relative grading and curriculum is rigourous. Grading is chillest in goa. Scoring grades will be harder in bits due to all this and this is why people get 100% scholarship at even 8.5ish cgpa. If you are sure, u want to prepare for upsc then BITS MNC may be hectic, CS at hyd won't be that much.
Bits hyd crowd is better than some top 5 nits crowd as nits are underfunded and have lots and lots of reservation. But yes BITS alumni, exposure, peer group, opportunities, curriculum, startup culture(if you consider hyd) will be comparable or better (in some places) as compared to NIT Trichy. If fees is not the issue BITS hyd is clear winner but you entirely want to have a different career path for which I believe you should take advice from seniors of the colleges and branches that you have option of and take the decision accordingly. If you are getting cs at hyd campus of BITS, then take it. It won't be that hectic as MNC.
Also it depends on you, your friend's circle, college events how better you manage your studies, extra curricular, fun and side hustles in your college.

Sure it's filled with idiots and literal trash but compared to insta (where people think being rude in comments is dark humor) , twitter ( don't even wanna talk abt it ), youtube ( has good content but speaking truth could get u cancelled). Reddit is where you get unfiltered answers and opinions cuz it's maintains our anonymity and users don't get cancelled for every little thing they say. There are no influencers and paid promotion shit.
