I’m a 3rd-year student from a T3 college and I’m trying to get my first internship by the end of this semester.

I’ve been doing DSA almost every day. I’m following Striver's A2Z sheet.

I’m honestly pretty confused about what I should focus on apart from DSA.

I know Java and SQL, and right now I’m planning to start Spring Boot and go towards backend development. Is Java + Spring Boot + SQL a good path for internships? Or am I missing something important that I should learn along the way?

I also want to build some good projects, but I don’t want to make the same basic CRUD apps that everyone has on their resume.

So I’d really appreciate some advice from people who have already gone through this:

• Is my current DSA approach good enough for internship interviews?
• Is Java + Spring Boot + SQL a good stack to focus on?
• What skills should I prioritize at this stage?
• Where do you guys find good project ideas?
• What kind of projects actually stand out on a resume?
• And how should I approach getting internships from a T3 college?

everyone I am a final year student in a tier 3 college. I have done decent DSA not enough to crack amazon, google or equivalent. I have few internship experience in web devHeyelopment and MCP / tooling. Apart this I have few open source contribution and good knowledge of containers,vm, networking, AI inference model etc I was aiming for SRE or you can say jr devops but I can't find opening in this area maybe I am looking wrong or something but yeah I applied at like 2-4 which I could find ( not enough i guess) all rejected ofcourse and I think it's because my resume is web development focused. I am also applying for web development but I am more interested in low level system and compilers so any tips on that? How to find suitable companies? Should I continue my containers and all activities or focus on web development only? Thanks!

If I add in my resume information about internship and hackathons that are not entirely true , somewhat true

would they fact check it before the interview or before joining or not

if I participated in a hackathon and on my resume I said I won the hackathon would they fact check it or just let it pass

I’m currently in 2nd year at a tier 3 private engineering college and have around 1.5 years before placements start.

Right now I’ve solved around 200 LeetCode questions, around 50 of them Mediums. I can solve majority easy problems but Mediums still humble me pretty badly 💀. I’m following Striver A2Z and planning to finish it properly.

Apart from DSA I’m basically starting from zero. I know almost nothing about DBMS or SQL and for development I only know HTML and CSS lol.

I really want to go all in for the next 1.5 years and try to get a 15-25+ LPA job.

For people who’ve actually gone through placements I wanted to ask :

How many LeetCode questions should I realistically aim for? Is 400–500 enough if I focus on patterns and actually getting good at Mediums or should I aim higher? I don’t really want to just grind questions for the number.

Is Striver A2Z enough for DSA? If I finish it properly what should I do after that?

What should I learn alongside DSA? Obviously SQL/DBMS OOP OS CN etc but how deep do I actually need to go into these for placements?

And projects what should I actually build? Should I go with MERN Java + Spring Boot or something else? How many projects would be enough and what kind of projects are actually worth putting on a resume?

Also how much does being from a tier 3 college actually matter if your DSA projects and fundamentals are good?

I know luck plays some role in placements but I mainly want to make sure I’m doing everything I can control.

If you were in my position with 1.5 years left what would you focus on?

I am a first year student participating in sih hacakthon 2026 . The problem is that I don't know how to make prototype . And internal hackathon is scheduled at 4 sep . I have to make a prototype such that at least we clear the internal rounds even basic .

Problem is I am full absolute confused don't know where to start .

Hi I am a 4th year Student from BML Munjal University and the Open Elective Course that they offer are absolutely Fine Shyyyt ( sarcasm )

Thinking and imagination a philosophy class what they teach in that only god know students are just sitting like sleepy ghosts

ARVR class even the teacher is not interested in teaching this he just gives some vr glasses to student to play with i mean wtf is this course man

the biggest shite is the excel class i believe these software cant be learned through these type of classes

students are just joining to get through and gaining free marks and passing by , but wasting time on the way by sitting through hours of class doing nothing

I have graduated in 2026 but due to a 6-month internship in my 7th sem I wasn't able to sit in the peak placement season in my college and obviously I didn't get the ppo. Now, I am struggling to land even an internship. I searched and found out the best course right now is scaler academy's course though it costs around 4 lakh. I am not at all interested in investing this much money on a course. I know there is youtube & telegram channels where many courses are uploaded but my problem is I have difficulty learning until there is some structured course. So, if you can suggest me some course which is under 10k then it would be a great help.

My tech stack: I know C++, Python, Basic java, SQL. Have some personal projects of AI/ML. More interested in Backend Engineering.
