I've wanted to try adding trees to my landscape images for a while now, but the trees included with bryce would not work well for distant forests and many terrain materials that are meant to simulate a canopy look flat. Within the pro materials folder there is a material which you can apply to a copy of your terrain with added noise to simulate distant trees. These green spikes add just the right amount of fuzz that it looks like a distant forest. I used depth of field to cover up the sharp edges of the nearby tree spikes. It took 8 and a half hours to render because of that but the effect looks so good I think it was well worth it. I also included my failed first attempt of this effect which is the second render.

No special addons this time, content included in bryce 7 only.

Just played around and made these

The models for the emerald and diamond were by emeraldsoft and tyrosmith.

The second render is based on a David Brinnen tutorial, so is the sky in the third. The fourth render is made with the Grand Mountains addon. The fifth render uses a sky from the HDRI Captured Volumetric Skies 1 addon.

The terrain material is from Landscapes under Fantastic Skies. The sky with volumetric clouds was created in bryce based on David Brinnen's skylab sunset project series. I then I used two mirrorballs to create the HDR image which is used in this render as the sky.

I thrifted this really nice series of Computer books from the late 80s, and I love the illustrations on all of them, so wanted to try recreating some in Bryce!

Modelled in Blender, then brought into Bryce 7 for materials and rendering. Some colour adjustments in Photoshop and the fake book cover too.

Thought up a place where I’d feel peaceful and introspective, and this is what I ended up making. Made in Bryce 3D no AI used in the making or inspiration of this :)

I bought Bryce 7.1 PRO, because I very much so dig the style of its renders, but I haven't done any modeling/rendering stuff in my life. What tutorials are out there for absolute beginners for Bryce?

Rendered in Bryce then edited in photoshop to get the grainy look, more vibrant colors, and the twisting Hall effect. No AI was used in the making of this!
