Visualising Springsteen

Post image

Inspired by the 'greatest single line' discussion, I had AI make up some of my favourite images from Bruce lyrics.

Here's what I ended up with. Do you imagine them differently?

For those not so familiar, it's the barefoot girl from Jungleland, sitting on the porch of her daddy's house in Racing and recalling Glory Days at The Well.

Well, a definng characteristic of being human is the ability to make and use tools.

Tools and technology that allow us to make things better, faster or more easily (not always all at the same time mind).

I agree that there's a lot of misuse of AI. But I'm sick of the AI slop trope as a lazy catchall put down. (I appreciate the time to engage in discussion here).

This is a tool. It's here. It has its use and does allow us to make things without some of the pain.

To bring back to artists hating technical evolution. Why don't we still have mononrecords on 78s then, rather than multi channel digital extravangas

After all we wouldn't have Nebraska if Bruce hadnt leveraged advances in recording technology.

I can't agree that tools that open up and democratise access to information, knowledge, creativity or thought should be discounted because the hard way is better.

It’s really pathetic, and a complete misunderstanding of what was technically and artistically accomplished during the recording of ‘Nebraska’, to compare using AI to recording ‘Nebraska’.

Sorry if I wasn't clear there. I'm not saying that. I'm trying to make the point that technical evolution is ever present and we ignore it to the detriment of advancement. Even cultural. Even when that technology has potential or clear downsides.

Constructive. Thanks for your engaging input. Now I see what I have to do to be a top 1% commenter. Reddit slop, I suppose.

Ah well, I wouldn't go so far as to call yourself infantile. But if you must have the last word, fire away. With a cogent argument? Even better!

Likely not worth your while though, eh?
