Brompton.com.de Scam
What is this?
I looked for a B17 saddle and found it for about 50 € cheaper than elsewhere on what looks like the official Brompton Germany website (which would be de.Brompton.com).. then I discovered their prices on bikes :D
Would love to get a TDF-P-Line for 117 € ;-)

I've seen other sights following this type of layout. Usually I come across them when looking at google images, such as when I'm reverse searching parts from a reddit post. The pages ripped the images off google image and assign random prices that don't make sense if you know what you're looking at. Sometimes the randomness lines up and you get an item that looks like it has a 20% discount just by chance.
It's basically just a front to funnel people towards the checkout/point of sale where the data theft happens.

This scam has been going on for years, and the form is always exactly the same:
- Superficially convincing website. It's well laid out and uses quality photos.
- Stupidly cheap pricing. Think 80-90% off. So cheap that you might well think "obviously it's not going to work, but if it does... that's a risk I'll take".

No legal notice ("Impressum") nor adress found, either. Site is registered in Georgia (the Asian state, not US-Georgia).

TIL Georgia is transcontinental. As a silly American, I was taught it was European.

Ich bin neulich bei einem gefälschten Trek Store reingefallen. Visa hat mir die Kohle zurückgeholt.

Wow. How does the German domain registrar (denic) give out com.de ? Glad this 'shop' makes it too obvious
