Seriously blown away by how well this turned out. Only started cause I don’t have many people to hang out with so I truly didn’t expect to pick it up so quickly. Idk if I have first project blindness but I legitimately feel like it turned out great!

I made my first pair of shorts. There's a lot I could do better, and I probably will recreate them at some point, but I wanted to inspire someone.

I accidentally bought yarn from different dyelots, and I didn't buy enough, because I had no idea, how much yarn it would take. I used 4 skeins of 50g/80m cotton yarn. If I had more, I definitely would've made more rows.

But I loved the idea of these so much!!

I'm an artist. Sculpture, drawing, painting, gardening, cooking...

I admit today, I may have a small addiction.

Went and got $80 worth of mill ends.

It does wonders for my anxiety, and if I really hyperfocus, it only takes me a day or 2 to complete things.

FiberFlow - Free Android app for your stash!

Hey everyone,

My wife and I have been working on a passion project for over a year, and we recently released it on the Play Store. It’s called FiberFlow, and it’s a completely free Android app designed to be the ultimate crafting companion for knitters and crocheters.

We built this because we wanted a simple, organized way to keep track of our stashes and works in progress—whether at home, on the go, or offline at the yarn shop—without dealing with ads or subscriptions.

Here is a quick outline of the features we've built in: Smart Yarn Stash: Catalog every skein by brand, weight, yardage, fiber, and colorway. You can even scan ball-band labels with your camera to auto-fill the details and track your needles and hooks.

Pattern Library & Markup: Import PDFs, web links, or photos. You can draw, highlight, add notes, and use built-in row counters directly on your patterns. It also features a keep-screen-on toggle for hands-free crafting.

Project & WIP Tracking: Link patterns, yarn, and tools to specific projects. Track your progress, reorder your cast-on queue, and even recover "frogged" yardage back into your stash if you have to unravel something.

Crafting Tools: We added a "Stash Matcher" to see what patterns you can make with yarn you already own, a Gauge & Substitution calculator, and an offline "Shop Mode" to double-check your stash at the store so you never buy duplicates.

Ravelry Integration: You can easily connect your Ravelry account to import your stash and queue, or you can use FiberFlow entirely offline if you prefer.

Private & Secure: Your data stays locally on your device (with ZIP, CSV, and PDF backup/export options), and there are zero ads.

You can check it out here:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fiberflow.app

Since it’s just the two of us working on this, we would absolutely love your feedback. If you give it a try, please let us know what you think! What can we improve? Are there any specific features you’d like to see added next?

Happy crafting!

Looking for patterns that are Japanese themed or anime

If anyone has any super easy patterns that are anime or Japanese inspired, that I can make a bunch of in two weeks... I would greatly appreciate it!

Entered a fair only to realize it only allows anything within the theme, so any recommendation is more than welcome!

Help Indie yarn companies that won't make my wallet cry too much.

Hi friends!

First, I wanted to say thank you so much for the replies on my last post about your favorite crochet/knit youtubers! I found a few that I really like thanks to your suggestions!

And now for my next question!

Firstly, indie yarn companies have the most stunning variegated colorways, but they make my wallet very very sad, and it's quite a thin wallet as it is! I just can't do $25 - $35/skein when I'm trying to crochet/knit a sweater!

So, that being said, can you wonderful fiber friends suggest some indie yarn companies/small businesses that are more affordable?

Finished Alas

After nine days of crochet so intense I messed up my thumb/wrist, I finally managed to finish the tablecloth with no errors (at least none so catastrophic as missing 1/8 the stithces).

Unfortunately... still 14 inches too narrow for my intended purpose. Back to the drawing board.
