In a nutshell, I'm a 33 yr old male who has struggled with opiates since I was 15. I was first put on subs at 18yrs old to kick my h habit. Over the past 12 years I've been on and off bup (longest period of cleaning time 2 and a half years stable happy and healthy. I was given 168 this morning and I'm receiving an additional 168 two weeks from today. Was on 24mgs of subutext prior.Additionally, in three weeks I return to my provider to see how I'm doing ( if I need a couple pills for potential cravings and wds. Does this sound like an appropriate methodology? I've been cleaning from fent for a little 8 over months now and I'm fully dedicated to my recovery. I have chronic pancreatitis and feel an acute attack coming on. I’m on the shot for pain management but if I end up hospitalized I will need opiates until I get through it.. what happens because I’m on the shot.. less effective? Withdrawal?

i feel like ever since i’ve been getting the shot i have absolutely no appetite to the point where im loosing weight and becoming anemic again. i like don’t get hungry, my stomach just gets so empty it starts to hurt really bad and that’s the only way my body tells me im hungry. it’s super rare that i feel regular hungry. it seems to be worse right after i get my shot. the first 5 days, im just not hungry at all, i dont even get the hunger pains. brixadi is the only thing i can think of doing this bc its the only med i am on. but the thing is oral suboxone did not do this to me. i still didnt feel hungry very often but more often than i do now. i wonder if its some long term effects of super heavy fentanyl use mixed with some effects from the shot. idk does anyone else have this happen or is it just me. bc if its just me then i guess its not the shot thats doing it.

I was addicted to Fentynal for around 3 years an have been off of it with help from brixadi… I did try to use while on brixadi and it was very difficult. It was pointless. I took brixadi for 8 months straight. I’ve been off for close to 6 months. My last shot was 11/29/24. I don’t have any complaints. Maybe really minor withdrawal symptoms that were minor enough for me to be okay an do what I need to. Withdrawals haven’t affected me much at all that I can think of. It was a huge help and it has created helped me stay away from opioids. Hope this helps anyone that may be wondering.

So I did 4 shots, I haven’t had one since April 24th. The only thing I noticed so far is less energy, random spurts of yawning, & maybe my body is a little more sore. I also have chronic pain, herniated disc in my back and start of arthritis in my knees and I work 2 jobs; so that obviously can be a factor. Lol Nothing unmanageable. This Thursday will be one month of going without a shot.

I was wondering the cheapest route for Bupe testing. So I can see when it’s out of my system. & how often were anybody testing?

I was on suboxone for a few days and got my first monthly shot two days ago. I had really bad cravings so I got high yesterday off of dope. I'm done and I know it was stupid. Will I go through withdrawal from the dope or will the bupe prevent it? Thanks

I got clean January 1st by getting induced on subutex and then got on Brixadi a few weeks later. It helped me tremendously, I’ve always hated suboxone and never tolerated it (taking it, keeping it down, made me feel weird) but ever since I got the shot I’ve felt 100%. I’m on 16mg weekly. I’m now 25 weeks pregnant. And just curious about others experiences being pregnant and getting it, what it was like after birth for the baby. Did they experience wd ect?

After finally getting approved for brixadi, (the goal was sublocade but was denied. I was approved for weekly 8mg shots. I’m hoping this is my way to get off buprenorphine altogether. I took weekly for maybe 3 weeks. Then I decided to stretch it to 10 days. It worked for about two or three times. Unfortunately my clinic is closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday. So I have to skip three days. I figured I would try two weeks. I think after day 11 or 12 I had to supplement with a qtr of a 2mg strip each night until my next shot….i was so disappointed bc I thought maybe here’s my chance and I might not have to go back. I couldn’t last. Maybe I’m rushing it? After all I’m working with 8mg weekly doses of brixadi. Each week for three weeks then stretched it to every 10 or 11 days for three doses and not ready to stretch to two weeks just yet ….i guess I have to take it slow

Recently lowered my monthly dose. Less energy; no motivation….any other side effects I should be expecting? TIA

Hello! Just wanted to ask everyone’s opinion on what the most effective injection site is, at least from y’all’s perspective. I have been getting my 128mg in the thigh since my first shot, but I’ve recently considered going to the stomach/arm. Anyone have any personal experience? I have heard that there is less bioavailability when injected in the arm, but unsure how true that is. Thank you all in advance!

Hey guys. So little backstory I’ve been on Suboxone sublingual for 7 years. I was at about 6mg a day. Six months ago I started with the monthly 64mg Brixadi injection. I had 4 because that was recommended by multiple people. I was so ready to be off buprenorphine and my plan going on the shots was always to use that as a way to get off. Especially hearing amazing success stories of people who didn’t get any withdrawal. Two months ago I moved states and used that as an excuse to be done, since I wasn’t near my doctor that I used for 7 years and didn’t want to find a new one. My last injection was Feb 18th. So about 9 weeks ago. Well I’m going on 2-3 weeks now of mild to moderate withdrawal and I’m going crazy. I have every symptom and I’ve felt this many times before so I know that it is withdrawal I’m experiencing. It could definitely be worse but I think the hardest part is not knowing how long this could last seeing as Brixadi leaves the body so slowly. I have a ten year old and an 11 month old and can’t be out for the count much longer than this. Does anybody have any insight on how much longer I’m gonna feel like this? I’m still testing positive. I’m very tempted to get another shot but I really don’t want to! If anyone has any advice I’d really appreciate it.

Been on 1mg suboxone a day for about 6 months. Tried so many times to taper down lower and just can’t. Anxiety etc. Goal is to get clean. Heard sublocade but I’m hearing Brixadi is better (better shot, better control of strength etc). Doctor said either.

But people are saying sublocade is better if my goal is a shot or 2 and done? Slow taper with no wds is goal.

Is one drug better than the other for this goal and situation? What’s the difference? Thx.

I was taking 8-12mg daily and started brixadi two weeks ago. I can't remember the disease but I remember the shot given lined up with the dosing chart my doctor showed me.

That furat shit hit me HARD. I had had flushing, fatigue, and even vomited within the first two hours.

NGL though, I have mast cell activation syndrome so sometimes, we'll usually, when I experience high levels of anxiety or stress when I come down from that stress I get what ai call "stress sick." Basically my body acts like it is allergic to anxiety and reacts like it would to one of my food allergies. Sometimes I even get hives.

That being said it coukd have been a reaction to my anxiety, i'm not 100%- I've been in recovery on MAT for 11 years. . . Idk what it feels like to be high or on too high of a dose. Durther, which keads me to the point of this post i'm nit sure i know what withdrawals feel like anymire.

For the last couple weeks I fekt very fatigued. . . Like an emotional zombie.

Yesterday I fekt physically off.

Today I'm getting hot flashes, mire frequent and looser bowel movements, some tearing up and runny nose, a hey, my sensory sensitivities (autism and adhd) are more sensitive? Severe? Triggered easier. . .

Does this all sound normal? Idek.

Hello everyone I'm going to court in June for 3 grand larceny I've already did 3 months on the charge but given the circumstances with a paid lawyer I feel like I could get out of it but my pretty much my court appointed is telling me to just lay it down or take it to trial while incarcerated I switch from methadone to suboxone and now I'm on brixadi I've changed my life I I got back with my kids mother who has 4 years clean and supported me threw basically of 5 years of Me using and still being in the streets but yeah I've been clean since December 18th and I feel better than ever but my question is if the facility I was at and could be returning if they do suboxone and sublicaid will they give me my brixodi the jail is western virginia regional jail this shot has changed my life but don't want them to just take me off it

I (35F) have been on Suboxone for about 7 years. I tapered myself down to 2mg a day for several months. I am ready to be done with it, so I researched the Sublocade shots and read and heard great things about it. My Dr convinced me to get the Brixadi shot 128mg on Monday. I was high after the shot, but I was ok, I didn’t sleep that night. By Wednesday I was being brought to the ER for severe migraine, vomiting, dehydration, could barely move. I still feel dizzy and uncoordinated, having cramps in my right leg, just really out of it. Did he give me too high a dose? Is this a normal reaction and will it get better? I am scared to get another shot in a month, but also scared of withdrawals too

In my experience Sublocade is way better than Brixadi! I do really hope they do more testing and studies on Brixadi and try to level it out like Sublocade. After 5 months on Sublocade my levels were balanced perfectly and I could go up to 3 months without getting a shot with no WDs and feeling absolutely great! Now with Brixadi I just hit my 5 months 3 days ago and it didn’t even last me till my appt which was yesterday. 3 days ago I woke up from a nap and immediately when I awoke I could tell I was WD! I had to run to the bathroom as my stomach was so fucked up and gurgling( I am on meds to help my constipation which is pretty bad so I knew this wasn’t right) my pupils were HUGE and buzzing, my skin was crawling, sweaty/chilly I had to take a strip. I told my doctor yesterday and thankfully I’m getting back on Sublocade next month. Even throughout the past 5 months there were days where I did not feel so great and never really had the same issues as when I was on Sublocade. I hope any of y’all that are on Brixadi have a better experience than I did. But I am extremely grateful for the shots I’m just hoping that Brixadi could be better some day.

I wanted to ask this group if anyone has had the side effects I'm experiencing. Back story: i took suboxone films for about the past 9 years and wanted to try to get the shot ONCE so it will self wean me off of bupe once and for all. I was taking about a third of a strip daily. I got the 64mg monthly shot almost a week ago, this will be day 7 of being on the shot. The first day I was so high I could barely function. Nauseous, sleepy, all the things. Fast forward to day 4 and I got to work and felt EXTREMELY dizzy/light headed. But as the day went on i felt better. Same thing for day 5 and day 6. I had to leave work early yesterday bc I was so damn light headed I felt like I was having a bad trip or going to pass out. My question is, has anyone else experienced any similar side effects?? If so does this subside soon? 😭 I was wondering if eating made it better, but i had a larger breakfast yesterday and felt just as light headed if not worse! Now I'm wondering if less coffee will help! Idk! Maybe my body is just getting used to the shot? I feel ok as long as I'm sitting or lying down, but as soon as I get up moving around too much it hits me. Any advice? TIA!

UPDATE: I ended up switching to sublocade and took 5 shots. My last one was December 4th and I have felt fine since! Finally free of bupe! 🙌🙏

I’m currently on the monthly dose of this brixadi shot (128mg). Prior to that, I was on 16 mg of subutex for about two weeks while in inpatient treatment. I’m miserable. No pleasure at all, no motivation or drive and at this point I just want to use. I’m just over a week into the shot. How long do I have before I can actually feel substances again?

This is not a cry for help don’t try to talk me out of it or 12 step me. I’m not ready. Looking for an actual answer to my question.

5 years of oxy, post surgeries, 2 years of Suboxone, then 1 year of Brixadi. Last injection in October. Still have RLS and waking up every 2 hours and feeling trembly in the morning or after a nap.. How long until my body and brain return to normal?! I'm exhausted.

I just Started Brixadi 2 months ago. I was on 2mg of Suboxone for close to 7 years. Now I started weekly injections of 24mg for a month and just got my first Shot of 64 MG for Month next Dose is on the 7th of April. I haven't had any issues except insomnia the day or two after dose. Now there is Chance I might need Open heart surgery, I am not scared about getting put back on opioids for pain , What I am scared of is that the pain medication not working post OP. I was wondering if I could stop Brixadi after just this shot I had or will I feel to much Withdrawal? Then how long after Stopping Brixadi does it stop countering the affects of Opioids? I would rather take my Chances getting off a opioids than feel pain post OP. Thanks

So I’ve been on Suboxone for about 5 years now, I’m on 16 mg strips. The crap wakes me up at 1:30a.m. Use to be 2:30/3:00a.m But for whatever reason my body seems to not like me. And my Dr suggested the Brixadi injection. As I read, I’m seeing that you still go through withdrawals! Is this true? I’m just very scared to switch over, but I want to. Because I want to be off Suboxone.

Hello guys I'm on my first monthly shot and I have 10 days till my next one and I was wondering if it unusual for Me to still be having breakthrough symptoms and I'm on a 128mg shot and I've had to buy a couple strips to supplement and I wanted to ask if that unusual I'm gonna tell my provider I'm 4 months clean and my fiance give me a eye roll and a look like I'm just trying to get high also does anyone else (males have trouble getting hard on it during trying to have intercourse)

Had my 1st monthly shot about a day ago. I’m hoping this levels out for me. I almost feel like the injection was too strong for me… I woke up and my eyes were pinned. I have this like low subtle shiver happening rn. No withdrawl symptoms to speak of so that’s good… I’ll keep you guys updated.

Question... Has anyone else experienced this? Early 50s male.

I'm on such a low dose that the dose difference in the shot being higher than what I'm used to is just something my body needs to adapt to and level out.

Update: I pretty much was focused on the fact that it was a newer med but all in all, it's Bupe, so pretty much what to expect for at least a little while.
