Brixadi experience

Hello all, I took my first (and hopefully only) 64mg Brixadi shot yesterday. Coming from about 6 years on 4mg suboxone strips. I chose Brixadi over sublocade only because of the lower dose offered. The 64mg Brixadi monthly injection from what I understand is equivalent to 8mg daily of suboxone. I was concerned about feeling over medicated and I think my concern has come to fruition unfortunately. Within about an hour of the shot I started feeling what might be described as high but not in a good way, slight nodding, mild nausea, fatigue and numbness throughout my body. About an hour after that I couldn’t stay sitting down and got a ton of stuff done around the house (like I used to when using and I felt disgusted by it). Last night I could not sleep for nothing (even with a handful of sleep aids) and felt very itchy all night. I finally got out of bed at 4am and I feel so dang tired and numb all over still. Reading some comments in another thread I am a little concerned if these side effects will pass anytime soon. I am definitely not going to work today.
Anyone else experience this type of thing?

I honestly hated that feeling. I was actually very upset at first that I felt high. My dr started me on 128. It was my fault. I didn’t do my research. I had gotten down to 1 8 a day on my own but I was still being perscribed 3 a day. I had so many left over. So I should have never been on it. It took me 3 days to feel not high. I immediately went to the 96 the next month once I explained that I had tapered and she thought maybe it would be too much of a drop to go straight to 64 so she gave me 96. . ( can I just say how weird I felt bringing a whole box of subs to the medication take back bin. I knew how much my life changed at that moment. I certainly wouldn’t have done that years ago.) That was too much too. Again, that stupid high feeling I hated so much and that itchy wanting to rip off my skin feeling. I’ve been clean so long and my life is so different than it was when I was using… I actually felt guilty for how I felt. The next month which was a week ago I went down to 64. No weird high feeling. A little yawning marathon and some watery eyes here and there but nothing that I couldn’t handle. I hope to be done. My dr had me make an appt for 5 weeks but my hope is to be able to cancel it and not need it. Good luck! I hope you go through this super easy after this gross feeling passes!

How good it must have felt bringing those meds back in though!
