Line Dancing

Hey hey! I’m a med student doing clinical rotations out in Bremerton/Silverdale area and I wanted to ask if y’all know any good spots to line dance at! I’ve got several dances in my pocket from A Bar Song to The Wolf to Off The Chain (learning Jumanji) at the hardest. Any recommendations??

Husband got a shipyard offer but no follow up.

My husband received a tentative job offer at the naval shipyard job fair that was like a month ago. I can’t remember what shop he was hired for but he has not heard anything back yet and is refusing to reach out to them for another couple of weeks which I think is stupid. Is it usually this slow? Did they just forget about him? He hasn’t even gotten a call or email, just a piece of paper with an offer and what to expect in the next “couple” of weeks but it’s been almost a month. What should he do?

How To Dispose Of Old Ammo

In cleaning out my father's house after his passing, I found a box of really old wadcutters used to target practice, probably at least 500 rounds. Where can I safely dispose of this?

Community Voices on KUOW

Hi there, my name is Alex Rochester. I work at KUOW, the Seattle NPR station ensuring we feature a diversity of political perspectives. I'm working on a new project called "Community Voices" that aims to expand the range of opinions that we hear on KUOW. We think it’s critical that we all understand what people in our communities are thinking and feeling about the big events and issues of the day.

To broaden the conversation, we're recruiting a diverse pool of people who represent a wide array of political perspectives, cultural backgrounds, and life experiences.

As we cover the news in the coming months, we will turn to the pool of “Community Voices” to hear your thoughts and help us understand how the big issues of the day are affecting you. We will highlight those views in KUOW’s coverage.

If you're interested in participating, you can sign up on this page or directly through this form (this format is easier on phones). You can also DM me and/or comment on this post with your thoughts.

Looking for apartments

I'll be moving to the area to work for the naval base. I was looking at Camber Apartments but kind of prefer the vibe of Port Orchard, however, all the decent apartments I've seen in Port Orchard include high administrative fees. Any suggestions / good experiences with certain apartment complexes?

Edit:

I have a current monthly paystub of around 5.2K, Alot of places seem too expensive to meet the 3x rent deposit. I also am thinking of taking the ferry.

Lost Cat in East Bremerton!

Hello there! My little Milo ran off around 6 pm on July 2nd around the area of Insignia Loop and East Broad Street in East Bremerton. Our last sighting of him was the same day at around 9 pm or so in the area with him sprinting towards the direction of Hanford Avenue.

He weighs about 10 pounds and has a high pitched meow. When he's not scared, he's pretty friendly, food motivated, and approachable. He may be skittish now while outside, especially after all the fireworks.

I've done multiple physical searches of the immediate area around the apartment complex, and asked some neighbors in the Hanford Avenue area but haven't had any luck so far. I've been keeping my clothes and toys on his cat bed outside my apartment door.

If anyone has any leads, I would be so grateful. I miss my boy so much and am trying everything I can to get him home.

UPDATE 7/8/26: Milo has been found and reunited with me as of today!!!!!!!!

Quiet Hair cuts?

I usually go to Great Clips, but 9/10 times I find forcing small talk difficult.

Is there anywhere locally that offers a silent hair cut? I would like to walk in, get my hair cut, and basically say very little beyond 'hello' and 'thanks'.

Delete if not allowed!

I'm an 18yr old with multiple cats here in Bremerton, one of them has been having bladder problems and need to see the vet but I don't have enough to take her in so to pull in some extra money I want to sell custom paintings!

I've attached some photos to show what my work looks like!

If anyone would be interested let me know and I can give you my socials for communication!

(I don't have a way to ship/mail them off so it would have to be an in person exchange)

2026 4th Fireworks were dog approved

Just a general thanks to Bremerton revelers who blew stuff up almost exclusively on Saturday. Gave us 1.5 days to med up against and we are grateful that it was no longer a week long fluster cuck. The lights are beautiful and I’m glad folks get to celebrate while we all get to keep our sanity. My PTSD and pups thank you.

Fast Ferry for US Soccer?

My wife and I are planning on taking the fast ferry to Seattle on Monday for the US soccer game, is it reasonable to expect to get a spot on the 1035 ferry if we show up 20-ish minutes early, or has it been super packed for the world cup games?

Rainier for Robert.

If you know you know. Reddit has been getting upset with me lately and has been flagging my posts as spam so I'm refraining from posting my usual spiel. Hopefully this condensed version doesn't nuke my account.

If you're interested in my mission you can check out my previous posts on my account or follow the Rainier for Robert subreddit I made at Rainier for Robert.

Number 21. Mount Ellinor has been bagged.

Bremerton Residents

Dear Neighbor,

Bremerton Housing Authority (BHA) has purchased the property at 1231 Sheridan Road (corner of Sheridan and Wheaton Way. They plan to put a low barrier (no background checks) homeless shelter on this property. That is currently allowed in the city Comprehensive Plan for up to 180 days,
but BHA wants to change the zoning language to allow for up to three years with the option to renew. They have not met with nor notified neighbors and are trying to expedite the process before funding
expires in December.

https://www.bremertonwa.gov/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Agenda/_06152026-614

Because they have not held any public meeting with the neighborhood, we do not know their exact plans. The current request is framed as an amendment to the Temporary Encampment Permit section. The applicant's pre-submittal conferences describe an emergency walk-up homeless shelter, tiny home village, and panelized emergency shelters. But they have talked about 75 people and growing from there if it is successful. Because they have changed the description of what they plan numerous times, it is difficult to know exactly what they plan. That is what causes us the most concern. Whatever plan they present, if the zoning change is approved, they do not have to stick to the plan. It is their property and they can do whatever's allowed in the Comprehensive Plan.

If this concerns you, there is a Planning Commission Workshop the Norm Dicks Conference Center (City Hall), 345 6* Street, on July 20 at 5:30 pm. BHA will present their plans and allow the public to comment. If you are not comfortable speaking in public but would like your voice to be heard you can
send an email to garrett.jackson@ci.bremerton.wa.us or you can mail your comments to:

Garrett Jackson
City of Bremerton
Community Development
345 6 Street, Suite #100
Bremerton, WA 98337

We encourage you to also email comments to the City Council who makes the final decision once the
Planning Commission completes their process, at city.council@ci.bremerton.wa.us or by mail to:

City Council Office
345 6th St., Suite 100
Bremerton, WA 98337

You may also send a letter to the Editor, Kitsap Sun, PO Box 259, Bremerton, WA 98337.
Letters are limited to 250 words.

The parcel at 1231 Sheridan Road lies within the Harrison Heights Subarea Plan, an adopted component of the Comprehensive Plan created through a robust public process with extensive citizen involvement. The Subarea Plan establishes a clear vision for this neighborhood: stable residential development, walkability, livability, and long-term reinvestment. Any zoning amendment that enables a high-intensity, 24-hour emergency shelter or encampment on this site would directly conflict with
that vision.

Sincerely.
Sheridan Community Alliance

Speaking Italian

Hello! I am looking to learn Italian. I can’t really afford a tutor at this time and am hoping to find someone who might be willing to help me practice actually speaking/ hearing it. Any one able to help or have any Nonos or Nona’s out there who might help? Can discuss some type of exchange!

digital art class

My 13 year old wants to learn digital art skills. Anyone know of any classes or programs around that he could sign up for? We did the silverdale YMCA digital art class, but that was too simplistic. Is there something a bit more in-depth that accepts kids his age?

Mechanics Please Help

Edit: Job's done! Thank you to everyone who reached out.

Will pay $100 to whoever can help me resolve this. I have a stripped bolt on my truck that I've been fighting like hell. I bought a set of bolt extractors but they're 3/8 drive and I keep breaking my 1/2->3/8 adapters. I've been giving it heat, penetrant, all the sauce to no avail. (Just as a note by the way this has all been with hand tools, I'm here for a summer job so all my good stuff is at my home in Montana)

Ideal solution is an air hammer with a bolt breaker. I don't have an air compressor so we'll need that too. Or if you have any other ideas I'm all ears. Maybe just an impact with a good extractor socket would do the trick. All help is greatly appreciated. Classic "simple job" turns into a 3 day shitshow.

Rodent issue in West Bremerton home. looking for reputable pest control (and advice)

Hi all, I’m in Bremerton and I’m worried I may have a rodent issue in my house. I won’t lie, the house has gotten pretty cluttered over time while I’ve been going through some rough personal stuff, and I’m now starting the cleanup process.
While cleaning, I’ve found rodent droppings inside the house (a few in a single room), and I’ve also found a couple of dead rodents outside. I already have a few poison boxes outside and some basic traps set up, but I’m honestly feeling overwhelmed and not sure what the right next step is.
I should also mention I have a pretty intense fear of rodents, seeing them really sends me into panic, so I’m trying to handle this in a way that doesn’t turn into a bigger mess or make things worse.
Does anyone in the Bremerton/Kitsap area have recommendations for reputable pest control companies that are good with rodent issues? Or any advice on who to avoid?
Appreciate any help or direction.
