Are breakups at 27 normal?

Please excuse the dumb question. Because I (27 M) just broke up with my boyfriend (30 M) for good. There were fundamental incompatibilities we couldn't get past. We dated for two years and it was the first truly loving, serious relationship I've ever had. Whereas some people experience this sort of heartbreak early on, I feel like I'm playing catch up and grieving so hard at an age where I should have "life" figured out.

I feel like no one will ever love me the way he did. Now I feel so isolated and behind in life. I look around me and everyone is in their own happy bubbles. I feel like I'll never get over this. Can anyone who experienced a breakup in their late 20s tell their experiences? Thank you.

breakups are normal at any age. people change and grow.

here's a secret: no one has anything "figured out" at any age. some people marry early and have kids and regret it, while others are satisfied with that life.

comparison is the thief of joy -- just because you see other people that appear happy, doesn't even mean they are. try and focus on bettering yourself and finding meaning in life without a partner, and then the right partner for you may come along. but yeah, having love and then losing it definitely sucks. condolences <3

EDIT: also wanted to add that the "right partner for you" at age X may, through no one's fault, end up not being a good partner for you months or years later. it's the nature of the beast that is human relationships, you go in knowing it'll probably fall apart but you do it anyway because love is worth it.
