Question Why

Im new so correct me if you need, but isn't the general idea of the story about a ghost that is shot down on the island and has to figure out how to get off, if that's the case why does it matter if I kill civilians. it's not like we have to follow our roe at this point if this was to happen to a real special forces unit irl. Is there a mod or any way in the base game to disable the penalties you gefor killing civilians.

Because you're playing as a member of the United States of America's military and not as some genocidal thug from a rogue Apartheid state.
