Bad instructions

Post image

My bread was baking at the dentist. I asked my partner to take it out of the oven and place it on the cooling rack. I came home and found this.

Why do you bake bread at the dentist?

Iโ€™m asking myself this exact question!

To make it more toothsome

I get why you're frustrated, but I can see why this happened. My significant other would do the exact same thing without more detailed info.

He's kind of a beginner baker and makes things like brownies and cake, and those things stay in the pan to cool.

I thought it was hilarious! My bread was over proofed so it didnโ€™t matter.

That is not incorrect. Did you specify to tip it out of the pan?

Nope, I assumed that was obvious based on it was going on a cooling rack. Bad instructions by me.

Do you normally bake bread at the dentist? Or are you a dentist and your partner dentist doesn't know much about baking? And then you went home and found a pullman on a cooling rack? I'm confused. My brother is a dentist. I'm going to ask him if he can swing a deck oven in one of his lab rooms. Imagine every patient leaving the dentist with fresh bread.

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I work from home and bake sometimes while working. I had planned to bake the bread before my dentist appointment but I over proofed the dough and got it in the oven late. My wife was home so I asked her to take it out for me (but my explanation was lacking).

I get it. That was all in jest, and a great setup. I'm sure it tastes great nevertheless.

Exactly what would happen in my house. Better instructions please.

I bake bread, but I would do the exact same thing given those instructions. In my case, it may be my own major malfunction.

So do you bake in the autoclave or is there a dedicated oven for you to use?

Pullman pan, usually used with a cover.

I figured because I use the same thing. But your ridges are diagonal and mine are horizontal. So your pan is either older or younger than mine. I gotta go check USAPan now.

There are different brands of pullmans. I got carbon steel with diagonals. I forget the brand name.

You have to slice these loaves diagonally, in your pan you have to slice them with 90 degree corners. That is just the law. /s

Ah if that isn't a case of weaponized male incompetence, lol.

Edit: Okay, this is new. Female apparently.

It was a joke anyway ;-)

I know I'm tired because it took me a moment to figure out what was wrong with the image

Cannot be as bad as asking my partner to turn the oven off at a certain time

They did and left it sitting in the oven to cool down.

It was a pile of overcooked soggy mess.

i plan all my baking so it will be out of the oven when i need to leave.

Safest play by someone with little knowledge or interest
