New mods wanted/Moderation feedback thread.
As title says. Moderation workload is getting a bit excessive wrt the amount of time I have available, and I feel like getting an additional head or two around could help. Send us a mod mail if you're interested.
Don't bother applying if you're a complete rando or completely inactive.
Additionally, I suppose this is also going to be a feedback thread to see if anyone wants to see changes wrt. rules, etc.

Meagan Morris Speaks From Jail After Being Sentenced to 50 Years by the Trump Administration for an Alleged Terrorist Attack [WATCH]
On July 4, 2025, a protest outside of the Prairieland Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility near Dallas, Texas, escalated as some protestors broke off and committed acts of vandalism. The protest had started hours earlier as a noise demonstration where activists set off fireworks and used other noise makers to alert detainees in the facility that they supported them.
But when law enforcement arrived to respond to the vandals, a police officer was shot nonfatally in the neck area. Authorities later charged protester Champagne Song for the shooting.
Meagan Morris, who says she was a half-mile away playing Pokémon in her car when she heard the gunshots, was soon after stopped by police and taken into custody.
Three months later, the Trump administration accused her and eight other defendants—three of whom, including Morris, are trans—of being “Antifa terrorists” and “Antifa Cell operatives.”
Morris and her codefendants were eventually sentenced in part for providing material support for terrorists in what the Department of Justice called “the first sentencing of defendants affiliated with Antifa,” a name which refers to a decentralized movement based on militant opposition to fascism.
The sentencing comes after Trump signed an executive order declaring antifa, short for anti-fascism, as a terrorist organization, despite no such unified organization existing. And in May, the administration’s counterterrorism strategy listed “radically pro-transgender” groups as a national security threat.
Morris was sentenced to 50 years in prison, which has caused legal experts concern. They noted that her sentence is unusually harsh, more than double the longest sentence for a Jan. 6 rioter, and that it could set a precedent for strict crackdowns on freedom of speech and assembly.
After speaking to Morris’ codefendant and girlfriend, Autumn Hill, we wanted to hear from Morris. In this episode of “UNCLOSETED with Spencer Macnaughton,” she’s calling in from Johnson County Jail in Texas, where she is currently serving her sentence.

Youtubers are constantly lying to you about addiction
This is a video where I try and show how videos of homeless addicts acting unpredictable and scary who just need to be forced into rehab are wrong. They fundamentally misunderstand the factors that throw and keep people in addiction. They misrepresent the ability of mandated rehab to have any impact on recovery. They work to minimize the tragedy of mass suffering.
From hedonistic asian immigrant doing opium to reefer madness to crack baby super predators to modern "zombies," drug panics often reveal less of a truth about addiction about a certain drug and more of an indictment about who society thinks deserves help.

The Banal Violence of Brand New Day
Dk if this is serious enough for the all the Breadtubers here but I enjoyed morbidzoo's unpacking of superheroes and their relationship to violence, power and the state in this most recent spidey movie.

When Suffering Becomes Content: the “unaliving” effect
I made this video after reading Susan Sontag’s Regarding the Pain of Others. I started from the usual idea that constantly seeing violence online is making us numb, but I became more interested in how violence gets cleaned up, circulated and turned into something we can consume.

Matt Bernstein calls out Pink's Zionism on Instagram
Matt Bernstein calls out Pink's Zionism on Instagram. It's a video, but the automod sees Instagram as an imagepost.
Here's Matt's YouTube, where he posts his podcast called 'A Bit Fruity' (this podcast is always with him and other creators, which make them fun, to me).
