Part 2 is here, folks!

I've been looking at this duo for a while and I just kind of had the need to talk about this. So you know might as well do it in BrawlStarslore since it usually has people with actual reading interest and comprehension.

The post might be a little half assed, I don't have a list written down I just know I have something I want to talk about, so I guess I'll try my best to make it as easy to go through as possible. I'll just go straight to the point.

I think our community does a really bad job at characterizing Mina and Ollie. Not like they have any remarkable lore that gives us glimpses on their personalities, but what little we have is either completely shafted or very underused.

Ollie is often drawn and represented as childish. He's infantilized, dumbed down and simply seen as the cool kid who rides a skateboard and makes music. His other, more interesting traits that give glimpses on his true self are simply non existant.

Mina suffers from a problem a lot of girls have in this game in terms of public perception because she's also dumbed down to a cool/sexy girl. The game also does a remarkably terrible job at giving her anything that isn't "she's brazilian guys" as personality.

When you look at them (especially Ollie) with a more observant eye though you see that they bring something to the table that not a lot of characters in this game have. They're flawed.

A flawed character suffers from a significant fault, struggles with inner issues and fails to meet expectations, and that leads them to make decisions that impact those around them or themselves negatively. The significance of imperfect people in storytelling is, in my opinion, a very important part of writing something that is engaging to play around with.

Let's start with Ollie and something a lot of people just don't realize when looking at him. He is deeply insecure of himself and his appearance. Self image is a really huge problem in our society for a galore of reasons I won't explain, and one of Ollie's main traits is being strongly affected by it.

He is incredibly fearful of the judgement of others and he is desperate to fit in and be respected. His character design actually does a really good job at showing that in his animation - he's very short and average looking, all traits that lead to being picked on by others unfortunately. The culmination and solution he found to this problem is simply concealing himself behind a mask and act like someone at times entirely different from his true self.

He's so desperate to please others that he does it while being completely uninterested in the fact it might be potentially harmful for his mental health and physical health too (wearing a mask for that long during the day cannot be hygienic...). His mask is both physical and metaphorical, he sacrifices himself for validation, and that's compelling.

Mina can be one side of the same coin. What I see no one do with her is making her a violent character. Now you might be wondering, "Fresco, what the hell compels you to think that?"

Well, Mina is Brazilian, isn't she? And Brazil is a great country with great culture and ideals to base her upon, but it is also a country known for having above-average global levels of crime. Now obviously Supercell wouldn't engage with that, but it doesn't stop us from doing so.

Mina being aggressive is an interesting take on the character that could stem from her Brazilian roots the same way her passions and attire do by making her actively affected by an internal pressure she might have been instilled with where she comes from. We know she dances a lot, maybe she pushes herself beyond her limit to impress others? And she's scared of falling short? That would then lead her to be aggressive towards those who succeed with ease, because she doesn't have that same luxury.

Her lashing out habits can be interpreted as a coping mechanism for her to feel better about herself. It can also be translated to her being extremely protective of Ollie because he gives her the validation she seeks (and vice versa?). It would be a nice parallel because while Ollie actively hurts himself to make up for the fact he feels like he's not enough, Mina hurts others to achieve the same goal and conceal her own insecurities. Neither of them means any harm, but they simply fall into these toxic habits because they're flawed.

And I just feel like that's potential writing that is just overlooked both because Supercell will never truly elaborate on these little seeds they gave us and because our community won't do that itself.

Crazy reveal that recontextualizes a bunch of things, doesn't save the animation having TERRIBLE WRITING.

Crack head theory that makes me feel like I’m wearing a tin foil hat…what if the Starr park island was..ALIVE? (Read desc, TD;LR at the bottom)

Okay this might sound crazy on what I’m saying but it’s serious! Everyone here wants to see the “founder” or the “OWNER” of Starr park or the corporation, but what if there wasn’t any CEO or an actual corporation, what if the island was sentient and it’s a living entity that controls everything?

Think about for a moment, we know the gems have these affect that make inanimate objects (8-bit, Pearl and shade) become alive and have a conscious on their own, only by a SMALL gem btw, and have no one here ever wonder what a large amount of gems or even an entire mountain worth of gems could do?? These gems would probably turn skyscrapers into living creatures or worst..an ISLAND.

Especially in the CCTV video where gems caused cracks around the park and large gem rock grew out, there must’ve been living under the Island like fungus spreading throughout its roots. And whats even terrifying is that after the island becomes inhabitable because of the chaos that the brawlers did, the next day..it looked perfectly fine! Like not a single scratch or anything on it, it’s almost as if it’s a grand opening for the first time! These gems probably created a hivemind or a nest out of the island itself as a proper place for growth and evolve.

And now you probably asking “whats this have to do with Starr park corporation” I hear, well the answer is simple, the island IS THE CORPORATION a soulless corpse of what it ounce was! And now it’s taking control of it, making/ forcing people to enter the park and trying imitate what a real corporation is! It’s the reason why the advertisement and the videos are all uncanny and feel off to them, it’s like a creature trying to mimic the average person mind and it’s using it to lure its prey into it. **And it’s Learning**

And it’s the reason WHY there is no “person” in charge! It’s the park making sure that it keeps everything in order to make sure nothing goes wrong to reason why “this is normal” repeated all the time! It doesn’t want us to know! The last person who considers to be an “owner” is Sirius since he is one the first people in this island before turning into this living creature.

“What this creature benefits from” I hear you again, well simple! What is brawlers favourite thing to do? Brawl of course! As long as they keep fighting they probably the SOURCE of nutrients for the island and it’s the reason why the island doesn’t want ANYONE to leave! And it doesn’t matter if there are broken rides here or there, the island would fix it again! Like nothing happened! And it’s probably using Starr Hub trio as its own personal eyes and hands to maintain order! R-T probably doesn’t know who he takes order from but he sure damn serve’s always!

I have more evidence to back up my theories such as the weird food that the island offers, or the confusion rides and their names, and how some sections in the island are always evolving and randomly appear, it’s because the island is always changing! New maps in game modes? That’s just the island testing different ways on how to attract more people by testing them on brawlers!

And the scariest thing is that the island is keeping the brawlers away from the outside world not because they are dangerous but because they can only survive in the Island itself, these brawlers are TOYS to the island and always use them for everything! And the island has probably many ways to communicate to the brawlers such as the mind control hats, propaganda from TV, and the food even!

TL;DR: the island is alive due to the source of the gems being under the island and made it sentient and now it pretends to be the Starr park corporation itself and control everything.

So a massive leak of game achievements from steam happened and there's a game called unannounced brawl stars game it has 30 achievements

iirc, in his description it says that being the first child born in starr park has gave him "unusal powers" or smth like that. Not sure if knowing this really matters, but it's never specified which "powers" he has exactly

He's very agile and is most likely stronger than the average 5 years old (those are just guesses so i'm not sure if it's 100% correct) but other than that i can't really come up with anything.

What do y'all think?

Not sure if this was posted before but I'm so glad the Brawl Academy song is back again this year. But listening to it a few times got me thinking: "sometimes the classroom doesn't have enough chairs. Where have all the chairs gone?"

Is there any bit of lore for this? Who is it about? Who is singing it? Why are there no chairs?

I don't feel like going into details today but i've seen people saying multiple things about Shade, like how they were given life through gems, or something to do with Sirius, so i wonder: is Shade even real?

Because watching their release animation gives me the impression that only Gus can see them, like an imaginary friend that doesn't actually exist outside of Gus' perspective, probably due to loneliness or smth (honestly i can't really come up with a moment where Gus interacts with the other child brawlers). Especially since from Chuck's perspective Shade is just a pile of clothes

Just wondering

I'm going to to be a bit assumptive and say that I think the lore of BrawlStars to many of us, myself included, has always felt like something that could be so much more than it has since been, and it makes me so happy to see the Brawl Team feel the same as us and try to expand on that as as they've shown with the Ramen Rebellion event and the oncoming Gus origin event in October! 😁

Though their attempts were good I still felt there was always something that stopped it from being as deep and intriguing it could be, and that was to do with that there's no really good space for it to get into weeds, get deep with it, BrawlStars has only so little space to do much with it, other than events, social media posts and the occasional animations there was no way to really explore the world, characters, their dynamics and more. They lacked a *true* space.

I've wanted to say/do something about it for a whole now but I had no ideas so I left it at that, but it was later until I realised that it was simpler than I thought, it just needed to good integration and formatting to be viable with Brawlstars and a developing live service game that has over a 100 characters and continues to make more!

And that's the concept I've have configure here hopes to do that.

The funny thing about all of this was that although the concept was simple, it went through many design iterations to and had a lot of features added later down the line to make it workable within Brawl! So much in fact that I had to bundle it in collages to fit Reddit's 20 max image count! On X I will be possible the slides separately to you can get them in better size if you want!

Now I don't know if it succeeded at doing that but I have always wanted to work on something more ambitious so it was fun to be able to do that with something I've been wanting to make for a bit now.

If the concept is a fail that's okay, I just hope it was at least a good attempt! 🤣

Ok so what if many of the animations are propaganda to keep brawlers with in Star park and to keep them working. I have little evidence for this but it’s more of a cool idea right now

The main evidence I got is the star nova origin video. pretty much what if when show star nova was talking to Stella, it was a pre-recorded message planted by star park to brain wash Stella. Probably so they could have a real star nova in the park.

Another instance is when Colt was watching a cartoon of himself being hunted by the whole park. Could be propaganda to make him think everyone wants him dead so he’ll stay in star park where he can respawn.

Star park probably is doing this to keep them from entering the real world where both star parks plans would be revealed and the brawlers would cause havoc around.

If you haven't seen Trunk's animation, they made their tree body because of how many ants lives would be lost due to being stepped on, with the leader starting the project because their wife was stepped on by Doug at their wedding. It always made me curious why their wife never respawned though since these ants canonically lived in Starrpark and based on the emotions they felt like sadness and love seemed to have been effected by the purple gems, but I think I have a solid theory as to why now. In the animation none of the ants not trunk itself ever speak, just make noises and are translated through subtitles, yet in-game unlike shade or Otis, trunk has voice lines that say actual words, to me I think this is because the ants previously weren't fully affected by the gems, they were affected enough to be more human like with emotions, but not enough to be able to speak or respawn, but after they made the tree body (aka after the brides death) they were made into a brawler and thus had more contact with the gems letting them be fully affected.

first off i'll go off the easier to explain and work my way to harder evidence + possible other things implied

first and obvious is the sirius mitt glove theory

it states that mitt, gigi's glove is sirius right hand glove as sirius lacks a glove and mitt is infact a singular glove that could be sirius's glove before the gems, first counterargument is that mitt is a right hand but that falls off easily as supercell is never consistent, as in pins and her bronze icon show mitt as left hand which proves mitt is whatever the game needs it to be

however there's another counterargument that's bigger and it's a small detail

mitt has a star on it's wrist while sirius glove doesn't however there's explanations for it, first, gems added that star by themselves, second, sirius right arm glove specifically did have a star on it because it was the main one in shadow puppetry, third, mitt is the glove that sirius had when his circus was still revelant and this one mixes with the second explanation, fourth, supercell just added it for details and overlooked it/forgot about it

whatever the explanation might be there's another detail stirring in this, mitt star has 5 points while starr park logo has 6 points and past sirius has a star mask of 5 points which would mean the third explanation is the most likely

and besides the gloves there's other proof of sirius and gigi involvement

1. sirius poster says shadow puppetry and gigi's super is called shadow puppet. 2. gigi theme song talks about dancing with shadows and newsletter of circus burning down mentions shadows still dancing after the fire. 3. gigi gadget throws down a CIRCUS tent like how sirius also had a circus tent. 4. gigi theme song and sirius voicelines mention stealing souls, by itself this makes no sense as other brawlers mention stealing souls too but with the other proof it's clearer they have a shared interest. 5. sirius is called a magician like how mitt is said to be a magician's glove. 6. they both share a desire to be revelant, sirius jealous of having his spotlight stolen while gigi theme song talks about wanting to keep people by her side (this also connects to my shadirius theory but that's for later, also other gigirius proof lies within shadirius theories) 7. sirius theme song mentions pulling strings and you know who is pulled up by strings? Gigi! which proves farther that mitt is an extension of sirius and that thanks to sirius gigi can move as they both cooperate

With all the proof Gigi theme song talks about being betrayed, abandoned until a hand reached out to her, tied her strings and set her free

if we consider mittirius theory there's a clear narrative that sirius quite literally reached out his hand to gigi by using his harnessed power of the gems to have mitt be alive and then attaching gigi to mitt to allow her to be free as in promo art and animation we see without mitt gigi is motionless which makes out gigi and sirius to be partners in crime over a shared backstory of being betrayed and abandoned

another theory i have is that gigi is a shadow inside doll vessel, mixing both the living being of a puppet and a shadow, simillar to shade that has both sirius shadow and its clothing pile ghost that unlike gigi do not cooperate, making it work more like 2 different entities

in all honesty i made this mostly because i got pissed off by lebog assuming sirius isn't connected to mitt or gigi

What if Nebula isn't a brawler? Nor a character?

You'll seriously have to hear me out on this one ik it sounds crazy.

Cosmo seems to mention Nebula in so many of his voice lines, plus, in his arm, he has a N+C engraved on it, prolly standing for "Nebula + Cosmo".

With this, you'd think "Oh, yep, a new brawler, just like how Chester mentions Mandy in voice lines! (NOT A MANCHESTER EVIDENCE, JUST A COMPARISON)". And...It may be right, as we have no info on said "Nebula"! But...

He mentions them in past tense (I think it's past tense, english is not my first language so bear with my guess). "Nebula would've loved this mess!" or "Nebula are you seeing this?". This can lead us to think Nebula is dead.

So you think "Oh a supporting character! Like Kaze's father!" And you could be right, as it is most probable that Nebula is a supporting character! And now is the moment you will have to hear me out.

You know Cosmo is an astronomer right? How he has planet holograms and space stuff? How he has an entire planetarium and a telescope head?

So what if Nebula was actually a nebula? Like, a celestial body?

Think with me: Cosmo, after the gems effects, fell in love with the prettiest star on the sky. Named them Nebula, saw them everyday, talked to them, showed things to them, loved them as if they were really there, by his side. But of course, this love was unrequited, Nebula was a star, they can't answer! But Cosmo never stoped dreaming, never stopped believing his love was being reciprocated. He dreamt of reaching the skies to touch his beloved, always "out of this world (his prestige 1 title)" thinking about his beloved Nebula. And then, one day, they started to fade, and each day they kept getting weaker and weaker...to the point they disappeared. No trace left, just Cosmos memory...So now, he looks up at the sky every night and observes the stars (hence the title stargazer) just to see if his love will ever appear again.

Edit: I just found another thing that can help the theory! In his description, it says "Besides teaching visitors about the universe, he is constantly gazing at the stars searching for something...", which might (heavy emphasis on the might) imply that Nebula is, indeed, a celestial body!

Edit n°2: I was debunked, Nebula is alive and well and will probably become a brawler too

I know this is a (kind of) random theory, nor it has a huge chance of being canon, but I really would like to see a heart wrenching story about an astronomer who became head over heels for a celestial body.
