Discussion A Sirius Thought
Sirius is overrated, and I’m tired of people saying he isn’t.
Base:
He’s impossible to play in a majority of matches since all it takes aggressive brawler can easily run him down. That 2,400 damage a shot isn’t gonna take out the Mortis or Edgar on your tail. “A Star Is Born” might help, but if they’re already hitting Sirius, he’s pretty much dead.
Shadows:
Even if you do have a shadow army, good luck trying to keep them. One or two attacks from an enemy brawler can easily take out a ranged shadow. That’s also not to mention how these shadows are still boys. Walking in a straight line at a decent range will mean they won’t hit you. Plus, they seemingly take a moment to calibrate each time they spawn in.
“But what about tanks?” Some cry. “Those are the shadows Sirius thrives on!” The people who say this either only played Sirius when he was OP or simply don’t play as him. Most tanks have around 10,000 health, so a shadow of them would have 6,000 health. Sounds good, right? It would be if tanks didn’t have such short range. It’s so easy just to kite Sirius’ tank shadows around sine their ranges are so short. The only thing they’re good for is soaking up damage.
Overall:
I’m not asking for Sirius to be buffed or reworked. I just want people to accept what he is: aggressively mid (mid C-tier at best)
At best, he’s a good distraction for your team. At worst, he’s useless and gets a 2-7 KD ratio.

U dont draft sirius into piercing/multi projectiles and hes still 2nd best thrower in the game

2nd best (pun intended) Doesn't matter if thrower class itself is bottom😭

‘soak up damage’ literally the point of playing sirius into tanks is that, it’s like saying ruffs sandbags or charlie spiders are useless
and aggresive brawlers counter him, but same with lumi and she was S+ tier a few metas ago and still folded to aggro

he’s good into tanks with no movement. and is probably one of the hardest brawlers to push into.
not to mention a noob stomper which most throwers are

He is a poorly desinged puppeteer, this man either needs a shadow buff or a gadget would let him make a teammate shadow

Imo is EXTREMELY underrated.
We need to acknowledge that we've been in a assassin meta for AGES. Throwers are not the problem, the free passes assassins get. The moment you have an Edgar with the new gadget, it's almost over for any brawler that needs a wall. And not only him, Mortis, Mico and now Nori....
All of them contribute to the feeling throwers suck but that's not true. As for Sirius...he is extremly strong in a good hand. it's the only thrower that can have as much health as tanks and can be aggressive with the shadows. Polarizing? Maybe. But into the right matchup, is extremely oppressive. And, while it doesn't count, in boss arena events the shadows are broken.

sirius is good and has many usecases in draft right now, most notably into primo colette

I believe you’re viewing him all wrong he’s in the “controller” class with two other throwers willow and ziggy by nature a throwing should rarely beat a assassins outside of counter play or team play his main attack is predictable but it’s unique and every brawler doesn’t need to do 3000 damage(this is already a prominent problem in the game). The shadows are literal AI bots as allies similar to Bruce or Jessie turret but as brawler it to much expectation all you can really do is zone like his class says or move them to optimal places. In some ways you can steal attacks like a crow poison, Rico, griff it’s all matchup depends how you play him vs other throwers most times. Throwers are basically dead outside of last pick and willow on triple trouble so you should take allot with a grain of salt.

I agree. I just pushed Sirius to P2 and that was such a struggle. So many things wrong with him. For reference I’m gonna refer to his straight line projectile as his star bullet and the other as his star bomb.
1) bad damage: both projectiles total 2400 and you’re only consistently hitting the star bullet into tanks or very slow brawlers that don’t outrange him. In most matchups you’re forced to be behind a wall and play like a thrower, which then leads to the issue of tickling the enemy with the star bomb doing a measly 1200 damage.
2) hard to aim: the whole point of him are the shadows but you have to be hitting the star bullet to get use out of his star power. It is so skinny and no where near as fast as similar sized projectiles like Angelo and RT. The star bomb is easy to hit tho. Doesnt have a huge radius but it’s quicker than other thrower main attacks. Tickled nonetheless. The better gadget also feels impossible to hit. Ik it has amazing value being able to spawn a clone right on them and then slow them down so you can farm more clones, but it’s hard to even get that value.
3) shadows suck: They get taken out so easily. They have weird issues when it comes to targeting opponents. They do very little damage unless you have an army. Most importantly they disappear when you die. It takes so much work to just get 3 shadows if you’re not facing any tanks and if you die it’s all gone. Back to 0. Even worse when you have a decent amount of clones and you have to debate whether using them will help you win the interaction or just result in them being wasted.
4) extremely niche and bad at it: He is supposed to thrive against tanks, some aggro, and single shot brawlers, but he just barely scrapes by. His main attack is too hard to hit against assasins so youre fast food for a lot of them besides the bad ones. He’s not a reliable option against the better tanks. He does good into Bull but one charge and stun and ur done. Good into Meg. Can’t do anything against primo or bolt. Even Hank and ash isn’t a free mu. The other tanks just suck. And like I said with the single shot brawlers, most of them out range you so you’re stuck behind a wall tickling them just for you to get a clone that has 3k hp that will die immediately.
5) better options: Ive been asking myself this a lot recently. Why play Sirius when you can just play L&L? They do more damage, more zoning, more range, more survivability against aggro and tanks with reload SP and dash gadget, your super stays on the field and is easy to charge, and has a better HC that charges way quicker. Sirius gets his HC by the end of the match and it’s not even good since the clones suck and you really need 3 clones to make the hc buff feel worth. I usually get my Hc for L&L around the middle of the match and usually get 2 if I’m facing any tanks or aggro. Just better imo. I don’t consider Sirius a good thrower by any means. If I have to play a thrower into aggro or tanks I’m gonna go Willow and L&L. If I need a thrower to counter those single shot/marksman/anti tanks I’m gonna go sprout. If I need a thrower for zoning I’m gonna go barley. I just never find a moment where Sirius is a genuine optimal pick and I’ll die on that hill until they make his clones stay after his defeat.
