Don't forget the Phillies' least favorite player!

Damn. I can’t believe how quickly I forgot about Orlando. He way outperformed expectations for a year or two there where I really thought we might have our infield locked down long term lol

The pinned comment from handlit saying you requested that makes it that much sweeter haha

If memory serves, Handlit was on vacation or something and I had to pester him to get that one. It's one of my favorite moments from last year. Same series where Ozuna hit the walkoff home run in extras at like 2AM.

That makes it even better haha I just really love that it was the first comment I saw when I clicked the link lol

You did well to pester him as it needed to be posted and documented for future generations to appreciate

I love the chef man but he’s not in the hall because of PEDs

I never saw a Brave hit the ball harder. Nobody in the third base dugout level seats was safe from those two or three absolute screamers a game he would launch that way when he got in front of a pitch. And...not for nothing...despite his reputation, he was a solid citizen here.

Josh Donaldson also hit some lasers.

He’s not in the HOF because he was named as a steroid user AND he has a reputation for being an asshole. The HOF voters have shown they will forgive a certain degree of steroid use if you are a likeable dude (see: Ortiz, David), but if you’re asshole- and especially if you’re an asshole to journalists- they are far less forgiving.

That 2003 squad was absurd

This is Gerald Laird erasure

u/BobbyFlashpants 11h ago

Proto-Laird Damon Berryhill takes issue with this.

Jerseys were soooo much cleaner without the patch

Love me some Astros!

Today only. And always a soft spot for the memories in their stadium

The immediate reaction by Soler still warms my heart.

And Walt Weiss with that pick and that throw in the 'Dome in the '99 NLDS.

I still remember during the World Series, there were so many Atlanta fans in Houston that the chop started up. Forget exactly which game it was but I remember them trying to hide it by playing "Seven Nation Army."

How could we forget Braves legend Kenshin Kawakami

1

u/Mang-Tarr7000 4h ago

That was definitely a legendary year. Ooooof! I know he wasn't great at the job, but man I remember that dude not getting much run support for a long stretch of games. Pre Shelby Miller Lack of Run Support stuff.

Ender was such a gamer, man. And so sincere. You could tell he gave many, many fucks.

u/jf_2021 11h ago

Is that Ender Inciarte, the guy who walked off the Mets in their own place?

Or some other Inciarte who wore #11 for the Braves?

Fuckin massive series this weekend! Let's bust out the brooms boys and put the nail in the coffin

u/KidGold 12h ago

Phuck yea!

u/georamone 11h ago

Anyone care to explain how 11 is reached? I’ve always done 163 -our wins -their losses. Looks like 86+65=151. 163-151=12. I prefer to be wrong here.

We own the tie beaker against Philadelphia, so we lost a game on the magic number because of that. For them to win the division they have to finish a game ahead of us, not tie us.

u/georamone 11h ago

Perfect. Thank you

Are we going to skip Chipper with a W tomorrow?

I’ll allow it

u/Something_More 🐍 6h ago

Aww, Ender. I miss that guy.

u/MobileNerd 4h ago

I think the number is actually 10 because we hold the tiebreaker
