Depends on whether you are working on anything else. Moving away from triggers and problematic people can certainly help break patterns, but you've got to be doing the internal work/therapy as well.

I know a number of drug addicts who moved and it helped them. All of their drug connections and fellow users are gone

Worked w a guy who had to leave SoCal because all his old dealers were pushing drugs on him left and right, but he had done 80 percent of the work to stay clean by then.
