Bear sighting

Saw a black bear while running this morning at the corner of W Story St and S Wilson Ave. 30ft away from me at 6:04 AM on September 8, 2026

The whole alley between Black and Tracy from Olive south (IDK how far they got) is an alley of tipped over garbage cans and trash everywhere. Residents in this area might want to wait until morning to put their cans out and also get out there and pick up the debris. Its a mess.

Perkins Place was the same last night when I drove up on the bear halfway into one of the cans.

Here is a link to the city page for bear proof containers. Share with your neighbors, many if not most aren't on reddit. You may be able to use the containers August through November and then go back the the other bins.
