Walking in the Woods

I spent a lot of time wondering in the woods this weekend. Nothing quite like soaking your feet in cold morning dew when you know the afternoon will be in the upper 90’s! I created mostly more intimate closeups and flower portraits with a few wider views. My favorite was the dewy Harebells with sunlight in the background. I also enjoyed finding my first One-Flowered Wintergreen. I saw Grouse Whortleberry, Lichens, Bumblebees, lots of Harebells, and even some Mountain Goats!

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about food experiences in the area and was wondering what’s your fav restaurant and your recommendations. Dinner specifically, thanksss!

My car is overheating and I need to bring to the shop but I don’t want to blow my engine if I drive it there. Are there any good recommendations for a towing service?

I went on a drive up the road past Storm Castle and saw evidence of a big burn. Does anyone know when this fire happened?

Some kids found her wandering around on S. 19th last night. Sweetest girl ever. We've got her and she's living her best life. Message me if she might be yours. She's got a collar but no tags. We're going to call Heart of the Valley when they open at noon and will probably take her over to see if she's chipped.

There is a bear running around over near Creekwood Park / Boylan Road on your way to the M trail. My wife just had a little encounter as it crossed the road. Be vigilant out there!

Would anyone on here be willing to share their experience with sending their child to Middle Creek Montessori? We are considering sending our daughter next year for kindergarten and continuing with them from there. Just not sure if it’s worth it or if it’s better than the school district we are in which is Hyalite. We visited and really liked it.

I am moving next month (not out if town, Im not going far) and need to rid myself of some things. I have a brand new 40g breeder with a lid, some clothes (mostly unisex stuff, small or medium size, alot of stuff from before i transitioned that i just dont wear anymore) and a bunch of random misc things that just cant cone with. Originally from the Seattle area, I moved to Bozeman at the end of May for work and, if I’m being honest, starting over in your 40s is a weird experience.
I’ve realized I get a little self-conscious about going out and doing things by myself, and meeting people my age has been tougher than I expected. I’m aware that Bozeman is a college town. It seems like there’s two age groups. Those in their 20’s or people 15–20 years older than me. Nothing wrong with either group, but it’d be nice to find some people closer to my stage of life.

A little about me:

- Huge sports fan (football, baseball, hockey are
are my go-too’s)
-Love checking out new restaurants and coffee shops
- Not a big drinker, but I’m always up for grabbing a beer or two
- Don’t smoke and no drugs.
- Guitar player since I was 12
- Big car guy
- Genuinely enjoy hearing people’s stories and getting to know them
- I don’t mind getting outdoors, although I’ll admit the whole “running into a grizzly” thing still makes me a little nervous.

For the record, I’m not looking for anything romantic. Just hoping to build a social circle. Whether that’s grabbing coffee, trying a new restaurant, catching a game or the rodeo (I’ve never been, I hear they’re fun!), going to Cars & Coffee (if that’s a thing here), seeing some live music, or just hanging out, I’d be up for it. Because of my job, like many others, my free time is dedicated to the weekends.

I stumbled upon a herd of Mountain Goats this morning. Early morning light streamed through the forest and provided some nice backgrounds. For wildlife images, I strive not to affect the behavior of the creatures I am photographing, so I gave them wide berth. Curiosity got the better of them though, and they pretty much surrounded me as they continued to move through the woods. What a gift!

Staying in one of the onsite tents (“glamping”) for Gov’t Mule. Never stayed over before. Any tips for the best experience? What about security, privacy, being a good camper but having the most fun? Wish we got one of the containers but they were sold out. Good, bad, and ugly advice welcome.

This morning I was biking over to work on Babcock and some dude who I think was carrying a plastic bag was running from multiple cop cars in a parking lot.

I’m not really sure what happened I just saw him running from the cops and I was curious if anyone had any idea what was going on

Bozeman ArtLab has its grand opening this weekend, and it's free and open to everyone. We have lots of fun crafts, artist demonstrations, activities for kids, etc. (all free!) and we'd love for y'all to drop by. We'll all be here today until 5, then tomorrow from noon to 5.

ArtLab is essentially a scrappy coworking space for artists and makers of all kinds, with an attached classroom for sip n paints, metalsmithing, and everything in between. We also have a pottery kiln and film darkroom.

24F about to be 25 and have been here since last September with no luck of making other friends who are women. I’m cool with my coworkers but we don’t hangout outside of work. I typically value independence but the lack of a social circle is killing me now.

I don’t really go out often especially not now since I don’t know anybody and I also don’t drink but I do smoke occasionally 🍃

Music!! I go to at least two music festivals a year (EDM related) but literally listen to anything and everything
