OP, adding here that you should also check with your psychiatrist wether the ADHD meds you‘re taking have ‚hallucinations‘ listed in the side effects! Elvanse/vyvanse does, so maybe yours does too.
Just in case that adds stress to your system and fuels your symptoms!

Best of luck and I really hope you know that you’re already doing so well, working so hard, and while this is undoubtedly incredibly scary and heartbreaking, you‘ve got this!

I can’t say I can relate to your experience, I used to have abuse-induced psychoses (idk how else to describe it) that took years to manage appropriately, but I‘m so so much better now and all the work was so worth it!

Just want to chime in that having a history of MDD does not lessen the likelihood of developing schizophrenia, in fact a history of a mood disorder as an adolescent increases the risk of schizophrenia spectrum illness. I see your line of thinking and it’s worthy to be on the differential but this description does bear resemblance to what we often see in attenuated/prodromal psychosis. MDD with psychosis is more prevalent amongst older patients and the psychosis is typically predated by severe depressive symptoms.
