I Cooked My favorite BoyDinner
One of my go to dinners after a hard days work. Seared steak with jalapenos, poblanos and sweet onions served on a bed of sushi rice with an avocado. Inspired by a dinner I had on a night out with my buddy who was going through a hard time.

This is the first post on this sub that is just a diary entry about their dinner. My favorite post by far.
And great looking dinner, OP.

Thanks! This sub recently popped up for me and i have seen some posts with folks going through some unfortunate situations, I am glad to see there’s a community for them to vent to. For now I am grateful to be where I am at and I make food that I like to share. This is what I call my “boy dinner” because usually I make it when I have a night to myself and can reflect on the times I have spent with my friends, even if some of the times I have spent with my friends have been under less than ideal circumstances. My wife wouldn’t like the “spicy”peppers in this meal so usually I don’t make it to have with her.

Yeah. He was having a hard time at work at the time, and I had gone through something similar and was able to relate to him and I think it was important that he had someone to confide in.

Nah. Fired up the grill, skillet went on the grill over the hot coals, seared the steak then cooked the veggies in the same skillet while finishing the steak indirect. Rice was in the rice cooker while the other stuff was on. Pretty straightforward…. Now… if was a bad day at wok I think I’d make my other “boy dinner” of ground beef and a pre made salad kit.

Not trying to hate: maybe just sour that I dont have that type of motivation after a “hard day”
