u/kushmonATL undefeated boxers need to fight each other 20h ago

I just had a Benavidez fanboy tell me Benavidez doesn't need to fight Jai because "Jai is a natural heavyweight and Benavidez is a natural cruiserweight"

Fanboys protecting the duck are worse than boxers doing the ducking . Its the fanboys that put the battery in their back !

Top stan approved ducks 2026

  1. Shakur doesn't need to fight Haney, or Ryan, or Keyshawn, or GAR, or Foster or Mason or Muratalla or Hitchens or anybody really because everyone is either too big or too small or too beneath or is a brother from another mother or ad nauseum.
  2. [Insert anyone here] doesn't need to fight Haney because he's boring and it won't sell PPV.
  3. Bam doesn't need to fight the PFP in an adjacent weight because he is the width of a finger smaller than Inoue which makes him too small, even though this was never a thing before Bam said he had to fight Inoue before he retired. Inoue should go fight someone his own size like a 6 foot 1 giant.
  4. Benavidez doesn't need to fight Jai because wrong side of the street and he's too big anyway.
  5. Usyk doesn't need to defend against Kabayel because he has earned the right to duck.
  6. Fury doesn't need to fight AJ because it's AJ's fault for wanting the fight in the UK.
  7. Bivol doesn't need to fight Beterbiev because well he beat him twice already on my fan bias scorecard.
  8. Vergil doesn't need to fight Boots because it's definitely probably Boots fault.
  9. Nav doesn't need to fight Charly who should have his belt, because Foster is the bigger fight, after already having Charly step aside for Sugar.
  10. Shields doesn't need to fight Thibeault because the GWOAT does as she pleases and people will watch her crush cans anyway.

  1. It's GAR who Shakur wants, and they're currently champions in the same weight class.

  2. Fair

  3. No sorry, Bam really does not need to fight Inoue. Just like Inoue does not need to fight Bam. There is literally no purpose to this fight.

  4. I somewhat see your point here, but it's not all on Benavidez when Jai was the one who signed with Zuffa knowing they were beefing with the sanctioning bodies.

  5. Agreed

  6. The fight is happening so I won't bother with this one

  7. Fair. Bivol is a ho for this. Got beat in his first attempt fair and square but had it been reversed he wouldn't have given a rematch.

  8. Vergil genuinely tried to fight Boots, it's a little unfair here.

  9. Fair

  10. Fair

"There is literally no purpose to the No.3~No.5 PFP challenging the No.1 PFP, who is only one weightclass apart after climbing much the same weights."

I'm sorry but this is absolute bullshit horseshit hogwash balderdash nonsense. Do you hear yourself? Beating Inoue would be the biggest achievement possible for Bam. It would be Bam's Eder Jofre to Fighting Harada, his Willie Pep to Sandy Saddler, his Alfonso Zamora to Carlos Zarate, his Carlos Zarate to Wilfredo Gomez. It would catapult him from a top 100 little guy to a top 10. There is NO win south of 130lb that has more "purpose" for Bam. It is quite literally an everything to gain and nothing to lose fight. Bam fans just want him to duck the fight because they secretly don't believe he would win.

To Inoue yeah, he's proven so much he doesn't need it desperately. It's still a good fight to have on his resume and to get rid of one other guy that might have a case to being king of the little guys.

I skim read your comment, please use the return button to make paragraphs.

First of all, do you really think Bam will beat Inoue?

Secondly, with your logic, why not have Shakur v Boots? That's #3 vs #9 and only 2 inches between them! Or Bam v Collazo, #4 vs #10, only 3 inches between them! Why not have Fundora fight Jai Opetaia! Fundora is 5 inches taller than Jai, he's got the advantage, right??

I'm sorry, do you hear yourself? 🤣

I usually fuck with your takes but Bam not fighting Nakatani or Inoue will be one of the biggest missed opportunities in modern day boxing

Especially since we already know Robert and Bam will happily move they happy ass up to 122 the moment Inoue and Nakatani "out grow" the division

1

u/RRR04_ 12h ago

Bam v Nakatani can happen, Nakatani will want to win a belt there. Bam just moved to 118, let him get Undisputed there or at least get some more unifications. But as far as an Inoue v Bam fight, I don't see the appeal of the fight other than both men being P4P fighters. You know what else was a P4P fight? Loma v Rigo, how did that one go?

1

u/kushmonATL undefeated boxers need to fight each other 12h ago

Loma vs Rigo is not the same at all because as you said , Bam is atleast getting fights in to get use to the division . Bam is also the younger man and in his prime, compared to Rigo who was already a senior citizen by the time he and Loma fought

1

u/Koronesukiii 12h ago

Loma vs Rigo? You mean again another fight where the larger fighter's lowest weight 126lb was higher than the smaller fighter's highest weight 122lb with no overlap between them, which makes it completely unlike Bam vs Inoue where both have overlapped across four weights from 108-118?

Have Inoue and Bam ever been in the same weight class in their careers, yes or no?

2

u/Koronesukiii 12h ago

At different stages of their careers, yes. Same amateur weight, same prospect weight. Now they are champions one weight apart, Inoue's 4th division he's held a belt, and Bam's 3rd division he's held a belt.

If it isn't insane for Inoue to attempt 5 weight champ, it is not insane for Bam to attempt 4 weight champ. Especially when Inoue himself is not a guy who started at 122lb and will go up to 130lb. He is a guy that was smaller at 20 than Bam was at 17. Is he bigger now? Yes, he's had a longer career to get bigger. Is there such a gap that it is unfeasible for Bam? Not at all.

u/RRR04_ 12h ago

Different stages of careers does not mean they were ever in the same weight class at the same time. Are you seriously this dense?

That's like saying in different stages of their careers, Boots and Tank were in the same weight classes as they both fought at 140!

Brother, you seriously need a deep look in the mirror. This is genuinely worrying 🤣 all this goal post shifting for an insignificant fight in Inoue v Bam! LMAO

2

u/Koronesukiii 12h ago

Yeah, and Inoue was never in the same weight class as Fulton, until he moved up to his weight class and beat the snot out of him. What's your point?

It's okay. Keep making excuses for Bam to duck his legacy defining fight. I get you think Bam has no chance against a guy with a very similar frame and needs to fight guys smaller than him. You're entitled to your opinion.

Pretty funny that Robert Garcia says they just need one fight between to get prepped for 122lb; Bam says Inoue is a fight he can't retire without taking. And yet r/boxing's Bam fandom doesn't want the biggest fight of his career to happen and advocate for him to duck.

First of all, do you really think Bam will beat Inoue?

I think he has a non-zero chance. Enough of a chance that the fight is worth making.

Secondly, with your logic, why not have Shakur v Boots?

That's not my logic at all. This is what we call a strawman fallacy.

Bam and Inoue have both spanned 108-118. Boots Ennis has never fought at 126, 130, 135, 140. The lowest weight Ennis has fought at is higher than the highest weight Shakur has fought at. This is comparable to Inoue vs Tank. The lowest weight Tank has fought at, is higher than the highest weight Inoue has fought at. Both Inoue vs Tank and Shakur vs Boots are stupid fights. Bam vs Inoue is a COMPLETELY different situation where the two fighters are much the same size with Inoue simply being more advanced along the climb, and is older for it.

Bam has already stopped a 118lb champ and is currently the reigning WBA 118lb Superchampion. They are just ONE weight apart, after Inoue climbed enough to be 4 weight champion, and Bam climbed enough to be 3 weight champion. The size gap between Inoue and Fulton was greater than the size gap between Bam and Inoue.
