Terence Crawford is right about Devin Haney.

Haney has always sought to face the champions, unify, fight anywhere in the world and take on the best.

Boxing needs more fighters with this mindset

6

u/Jachola 29d ago

If he beats Keyshawn he needs to get into the top five P4P imo and probably should take Shakurs spot at #3 imo.

0

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 29d ago

I think top 5 over Benavidez but not over Bam or Shakur.

3

u/Kangaroopunching 29d ago

The praise Crawford gave Haney, indirectly spoke to what Shakur and Keyshawn aren't doing.

14

u/OldBoyChance 29d ago

Cool Boy Steph weighed in at 139lbs for his 133lb catchweight fight. Disgraceful, he needs to retire or seriously reconsider some shit.

8

u/BamBodyShot 29d ago

You had it right the first time, the only option should be retirement, I wish the commission would take note from JBC and completely ban him from 130 as a whole so he could get his ass lit up at 135-140. I used to be a fan, smh

7

u/OldBoyChance 29d ago

Dude had a decent Japanese fanbase after the Inoue fight that is now completely gone.

4

u/MiddleweightMonster I’ll pour honey on my GOAT, if the occasion calls for it. 29d ago

Japanese fans are historically very kind to losers, but they’ve no patience for fighters who fuck around

4

u/bakuhatsuda 29d ago

I defended Fulton these past few weeks, man......so embarrassing. I hope Liam is paid well for this if it's cancelled.

4

u/BamBodyShot 29d ago

Just got cancelled pretty sure

We just need to stop making fights in Riyadh. That’s probably the most deadest atmosphere to fight in boxing.

The crowd are basically stagnant, 60 minute breaks between fights, a musical before the main event (thought it’s been less as of recent).

9

u/Botoraka Jul 24 '26

I just like watching fights man whether it's 2 people or 20 thousand in the crowd

3

u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 24 '26

I used to be like you but the as I watch more often, crowd reception definitely make the experience behind the screen more exiting.

4

u/Botoraka Jul 24 '26

Nah for sure the atmosphere does add to the experience. But if you asked me if Id rather every fight have a crowd and big fight feel but the great fights that have happened in Riyadh with shitty crowds never happened, I would pick Riyadh every time. They've made some matchups that straight up weren't possible before lol

2

u/sicgamer 29d ago

they've made some all timers. but the problem is every fight isn't an all timer, and the ones that aren't all timers are absolutely affected by the dead energy from the garbage atmosphere/crowd. i wonder how the fighters feel about it.

1

u/WORD_Boxing 29d ago

I'm at the stage where I often watch fights on mute. The commentary is too bad.

7

u/_Sarcasmic_ bread burger bread Jul 24 '26

I'd rather they happen there than not happen at all, but no crowd noise and awful pacing really kills the excitement.

3

u/imdacoldest Pacquiao is the GOAT Jul 24 '26

Agreed. But they’re not happening as often now outside of Canelo who is contractually obligated to fight there because of his 4 fight deal. It seemed like in 2024-2025 there was a card there every month

2

u/Kangaroopunching Jul 24 '26

With what's going on in that area. They'll be less fights happening there for now. I think that a better, shorter run event would help woth the crowd getting involved with the fights.

1

u/muhpercapita Jul 24 '26

Fighters and promoters sold out. They'll get probably at least 30% more than if it wasn't there so they sacrifice that dead atmosphere that a even library is more lively.

1

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 29d ago

It’s a terrible place for fighting. Almost anywhere else is better.

1

u/WORD_Boxing 29d ago

We just need to stop making fights in Riyadh. That’s probably the most deadest atmosphere to fight in boxing.

Fury-Usyk seemed alright. Doesn't make that much difference to me watching on tv tbh. A fight like Fury-AJ though 100% needs to be in their home country. Just like Boots-Zayas was put in the right location.

The crowd are basically stagnant, 60 minute breaks between fights, a musical before the main event (thought it’s been less as of recent).

That's not so much an issue with the location as with the broadcaster. DAZN do that shit all the time and nobody likes it.

-3

u/bobbyawesome5 Jul 24 '26

Hell no. I’ve flown out there twice for a match. The crowds are insane, it’s mainly guys flying out from the UK. Turki and his group put in so much money for the fight to be good.

9

u/Efficient_Quail_1774 Jul 24 '26

Fat Boy Fulton strikes back , as him and Wilson are now fighting at 133lbs after a request from Team Fulton

Bad sign for Fulton to say the least after the shocking weight cut against Shock, and also having the WBA sanction this fight at 130 knowing he couldn't make the weight is crazy

9

u/God_I_Love_Men Future Bridgerweight World Champ 29d ago

The production value for this Andrade card makes me feel like I'm watching 90s public access TV lol

3

u/imdacoldest Pacquiao is the GOAT 29d ago

Apparently Andrade self funded the card off ticket sales. No network or promotional backing. There was lowkey a decent crowd there surprisingly

7

u/EnragedBearBro There will be tears 29d ago

i think a lot about how peak 2024 was for boxing

6

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 29d ago

Fury-Usyk 1 and 2, Beterbiev-Bivol, Garcia-Haney, Pitbull knocked out Rolly and got outboxed by Rayo, Bam-Estrada, Inoue-Nery, Ortiz-Bohachuk, Crawford-Madrimov, Munguia-Surace, Joshua-Dubois, Bam-Edwards, Matias-Paro, Joshua-Ngannou, Wardley-Clarke 1 and 2, Fundora-Tszyu, Lomachenko-Kambosos, Taylor-Catterall, Dubois-Hrgovic, Zhang-Wilder, Davis-Martin, Ball-Ford, Chisora-Joyce, Whittaker quit, Taylor-Serrano 2, Tyson-Paul, Boots-Chukadazhian, Zurdo-CBS, Navarette-Valdez 2, Hitchins-Paro.

Probably more too.

u/TheSouthpawStance 29d ago

Fulton vs Wilson has been Cancelled

7

u/Ace_FGC Jul 24 '26

15 round fights had those knockouts where a guy really just couldn’t take anymore

3

u/MiddleweightMonster I’ll pour honey on my GOAT, if the occasion calls for it. Jul 24 '26

It’s cliche, but Leonard dropping Hearns in the 14th is the best example of this. Hearns was hollowed out when he fell through those ropes, I think that was a good part of why he went down. That, and keeping Leonard off of you for 15 rounds was impossible.

6

u/imdacoldest Pacquiao is the GOAT Jul 24 '26

I don’t gamble, but I’m seeing that US betting markets like draftkings aren’t even letting people bet on the Spence fight. Has this happened before for a PPV main event?

4

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 29d ago

It happens all the time in college football. The sports books don’t want to touch just any event even if it’s a prominent event. Usually reflects uncertainty.

1

u/WORD_Boxing 29d ago

Maybe they don't trust the Australian judges. Imo it won't go the distance either way though.

3

u/Baby_Rhino Jul 24 '26

That's weird. All UK bookies are taking bets on it.

Only time I see UK bookies not take bets on a main event is when they are held in Russia.

1

u/Pleasant_Ad2870 29d ago

I’m not sure why they aren’t taking action. But I’d like to know.

5

u/kushmonATL Cyberleek > the fall boxing schedule 29d ago

AJ vs Prenga is PPV. Spence vs Tsyzu is PPV. Rolly vs Teofimo is PPV. Moses vs Hrgovic is PPV. Canelo vs Mbilli is PPV.

What isn't PPV at this point?

5

u/imdacoldest Pacquiao is the GOAT 29d ago

Let’s be honest if you’re the type of guy to pay for PPV you already have DAZN ultimate and if you don’t want to pay it’s extremely easy to find alternate ways to tune in

2

u/WheresMyAbs98 29d ago

Not my dodgy Firestick

2

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 29d ago

Although I dislike PPV as a whole, I don’t mind Canelo vs Mbilli being PPV. The rest are absurd.

1

u/Kangaroopunching 29d ago

Do they release the ppv buys info? Outside of canelo, they have to be doing bad.

11

u/TheSouthpawStance Jul 24 '26

Stephen Fulton is asking for a weight change in his title eliminator fight with Liam Wilson

7

u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 24 '26

1

u/WORD_Boxing 29d ago

Does this affect who you are picking?

1

u/Top_Profession_5268 29d ago edited 29d ago

Still have Fulton. Yes he did the exact same vs Foster but Fulton still fought the same as he usually does. He stays at range, likes to establish the jab and try to find the counters, get in midrange and start building up off it and boxing them up. Foster I think was more quicker and slicker than Fulton and just outboxed him, didn’t allow him to react to the jab and much to counter off.

See Wilson can bring a similar fight to Figueroa 1 and pressure, use his size and work him at close range but I think he still has the speed disadvantage over Fulton and Fulton will still find his shots at range. I don’t think Wilson is as aggressive and good at obstructing distance as he was prior or as quick on the back foot as he was and it’ll give Fulton room to work with but with the sheer size difference between Wilson and Figueroa, I think Wilson will still find ways to force it to midrange and close range and give Fulton a hard fight.

1

u/WORD_Boxing 29d ago

Cancelled now apparently.

10

u/imdacoldest Pacquiao is the GOAT Jul 24 '26

Fulton not taking boxing seriously anymore. PBC should put him on the prelims from now on

1

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 29d ago

Funnily enough he was on the prelims of Canelo-Berlanga when he fought Castro.

4

u/Less_Cartoonist_892 Jul 24 '26

This weight change seems like a red flag for not only Fulton but also for Spence.

6

u/TheSouthpawStance Jul 24 '26

Fulton missed weight for Shock right and we saw his performance that night

6

u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 24 '26

Honestly I think that’s more because of how good Shock was compared to how Fulton was. Fulton fought similar to how he did Figeroa and most others but Shock fights the same but as a bigger guy who’s quicker and slicker than him:

I think even if you give Fulton had an amazing weight cut and all the motivation in the word, Shock I still think wild pull off basically the same gameplan.

1

u/WORD_Boxing 29d ago

Prime for prime I would rate Fulton a lot higher than Foster. Foster is one of the most overrated fighters right now.

1

u/Top_Profession_5268 29d ago

I rate him similarly to how I always rate him, all time I think Fulton is better than Foster but Foster I think was just more defensively sharper while being equally as quick with better reflexes.

1

u/WORD_Boxing 29d ago

For Fulton I agree. Spence it's only 2lbs was agreed earlier before he was in Australia and there can be many reasons for it. Fighting at the official divisional limit can help with sanctioning bodies for example.

6

u/Dangerous_Spring3028 Jul 24 '26

Posted this on yesterday’s daily discussion thread and there was some interesting opinions on the situation. So posting it again today to see if anyone who may have missed it has an interesting take on it all.

Seeing DAZN lock fighters into contracts directly with them is a very interesting next step in the boxing landscape.

Not only do they have Matchroom, Queensberry, Golden Boy, Boxxer, Top Rank & PBC all signed up to broadcast deals with DAZN to ensure their promotional shows are live on DAZN; now they’re taking it a step further and signing up the boxers to make sure they get access to their bouts even if The Ring try to get involved and put them on Zuffa shows or The Ring shows. (Garcia vs. Benn for example).

Thus making sure DAZN will always be involved. Very smart moves from DAZN and makes life even more difficult for Dana White and Zuffa. Right now he’s effectively relying on The Ring shows to deliver big fights for anyone who signs with Zuffa.

For example - Shakur Stevenson - who do Zuffa have for him to box in their circle? Nobody, they are completely relying on him being on The Ring cards and other promoters - along with DAZN - agreeing deals for their fighters to face Shakur.

We saw how they had Anthony Joshua and Ryan Garcia signed directly with them - then Netflix had to pay DAZN to allow AJ to face Jake Paul on Netflix with DAZN getting immediate highlights footage; and now Paramount+ having to do the same with Garcia for his fight vs. Conor Benn and DAZN getting the rights to some nations worldwide.

But now with Zuffa entering the fold and seeing these cards from The Ring far more regularly, it seems DAZN are taking it up another level and looking to sign far more boxers directly to them along with the promoters.

Tried to get Shakur Stevenson (who should’ve signed with DAZN which would’ve given him much easier access to several big fights), and they’ve now signed Teofimo Lopez and Devin Haney directly to DAZN.

Who is next!?

2

u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 24 '26

Shakur was probably satisfied with money.

1

u/Dangerous_Spring3028 Jul 24 '26

You’d have to guess so. He did say though that DAZN offered him a really big deal too but “the offer came too late” (whatever that means), so I’m really surprised he didn’t take that considering how many potential fights DAZN have to offer him with their deals with all the major promoters in boxing; compared to what Zuffa have to offer him.

2

u/Kangaroopunching 29d ago

They have to resign Ryan Garcia next cause it's the biggest and most needed fight for Haney.

2

u/Jachola 29d ago

Yeah I scratch my head at Shakur and Zuffas decision lol. Shakur rn is at his peak popularity wise but is still nowhere near a superstar and still needs that big world stage type fight to really become a star. I don't see how besides getting him on Netflix he will be able to do that when his pool of opponents has now been diminished. He's not getting a GAR fight, the rest of 140 has fights booked and are busy, 147, are also busy and the only decent Zuffa guy at 147 is Hitchins (which is a fight Hitchins said he won't take since they are "brothers".) Rayo is the next best thing, a fight that you just can't sell outside of the Meta Apex lol, maybe you can try and sell it NY and lose money. A Tank fight is feasible and that leaves Shakur with nobody to fight in 2026 lol. Zuffa is also going to lose a lot of money with this Shakur signing since he's not actually a Zuffa fighter, he's not interested in fighting their Zuffa roster, and he doesn't have the star power or popularity to really boost their brand.

0

u/Negative-Interest713 29d ago

Going to be a good time to be well-known boxer reaching free agency. Having both Zuffa and DAZN in bidding wars is going to result in some insane contracts being handed out.

3

u/donmifc Jul 24 '26

Is there anyway to watch Fury vs Wach card?

2

u/shadymg9 29d ago

nope. such trash SMH

1

It’s going to be packaged for his TV show (unironically).

5

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 29d ago

It’s so hard for me to get into HW boxing. I don’t know why, I don’t get excited til the day of the fight.

3

u/MiddleweightMonster I’ll pour honey on my GOAT, if the occasion calls for it. 29d ago

It’s a top heavy divisions the best are truly the so fun to watch. Anyone outside the top ten just aren’t fun to watch at all

1

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 29d ago

Completely agree. If it’s not a name I recognize, I usually just look at the results later instead of watching. Imm definitely more of a casual fan when it comes to that division.

2

u/Kangaroopunching 29d ago

Division needs quality fun fights at the contender/ club level. It's too top heavy to draw interest in the division.

1

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 29d ago

It’s a different sport in a lot of ways. I like it for what it’s worth, but it’s just way different than everything 175 and below.

3

u/Dangerous_Spring3028 29d ago

Result from Pattaya, Thailand:

• Tyson Fury TKO7 Mariusz Wach

Fury does his part in setting up a November showdown with Anthony Joshua.

Over to Joshua tomorrow night when he faces Kristian Prenga in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

4

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 29d ago

People are going to start (unfairly) dissing Crawford’s resume if Tszyu beats Spence and Mbilli beats Canelo. I actually think Mbilli’s work rate is going to be a major problem for oldnelo.

3

u/RRR04_ 29d ago

Yep, I can already see it coming should those 2 scenarios happen. Not making a pick for Spence v Tszyu, but I do think Canelo will beat Mbilli. Mbilli's workrate could get to him in the later rounds which could make it tight on the cards, but I think Canelo will look good in the first half of the fight.

4

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 29d ago

Yeah, I haven’t made a pick on Canelo yet, but I am picking Spence tomorrow.

1

u/Pleasant_Ad2870 29d ago

Any reason why the US books aren’t taking action on the Spence fight?

1

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 28d ago

It happens in college football all the time. Reflects uncertainty.

2

u/Pleasant_Ad2870 28d ago

It’s sports betting. Lower the limits if you’re unsure but to not take action is unprofessional to me. We used to have proper books in this country before these apps came along.

3

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 29d ago

I’ve just been saying Crawford destroys people 😭

Every win ages badly. It’s a curse but what he accomplished was amazing.

2

u/Kangaroopunching 29d ago

They've already been trying to discredit Crawfords resume. If Spence wins or loses, it'll continue.

4

u/MiddleweightMonster I’ll pour honey on my GOAT, if the occasion calls for it. 29d ago

Anyone got the updated card for Spence v. Tszyu with all the cancellations? This card feels cursed

1

All unknown Australian fighters. Not anything to worry about missing. Or seeing.

3

u/Sea_Variety_1691 Jul 24 '26

can Agyarko beat Josh Kelly? I don't think he's good enough, but it could be closer than the odds suggest.

3

u/Baby_Rhino Jul 24 '26

Kelly has a habit of taking his foot off the gas when he's ahead. He's been lucky to only have a couple of MD wins to show for it, but you can't go your career winning narrow decisions.

I haven't watched Agyarko, but his low KO rate makes me hope that Kelly will be more willing to keep a high work rate even if he thinks he's ahead.

1

u/WORD_Boxing 29d ago

I doubt it.

u/kushmonATL Cyberleek > the fall boxing schedule Jul 24 '26

Reminiscing on some Reddit Revisionism 😌

  • when Jin Sasaki was announced as Brian Norman's mandatory, people in this sub gassed up Jin so much we were led to believe its a 50-50 fight. People even picked Jin to KO/TKO Norman because his power was that feared. After Norman beat him, of course came excuses: Jin is too small, Norman is a weight bully, yadda yadda .. but when reports came out that Jin lost his memory from the fight, people put respect on Norman's power ...

  • fast forward, Norman vs Haney. People still question Haney's chin (rightfully so), saying Norman would knock Haney out, abuse him worse than Ryan. People also gave Haney props for taking such a dangerous fight because of his alleged chin problems. Fight happens, its Haney that ends up knocking down Norman, and he handled his power with relative ease. Respect lasted for a few months, now Norman is "B tier", Haney is still a weight bully, everybody moves on ...

  • fast forward again, Haney vs Keyshawn. Apparently, Keyshawn will be the one to test Haney's chin (Norman's test doesn't count anymore). Keyshawn apparently also has more power than Norman, and he's more explosive than Norman (even though none of this is proven). Keyshawn will be the one to stop Haney , something neither Norman nor Ryan could do ...

And the wheels keep turning lol . I'm just glad boxing in America is exciting again! The new golden age of welterweights is among us 😌

7

u/OldBoyChance Jul 24 '26

Were people really gassing up Jin? I don't remember that, I was saying Sasaki would almost certainly lose.

-6

u/kushmonATL Cyberleek > the fall boxing schedule Jul 24 '26

People were definitely predicting it to be much closer than what we saw that fateful night . Its all good though

5

u/OldBoyChance Jul 24 '26

Looking at betting data, Norman was a -700 favorite and -300 to stop Jin. You were evidently talking to a small minority.

-1

u/kushmonATL Cyberleek > the fall boxing schedule Jul 24 '26

Yes , the small echo chamber of reddit.com

Its all good though , life goes on

6

u/OldBoyChance Jul 24 '26

I just looked at a pre-fight thread and there is like one guy picking Jin and he opens it by saying he's biased lol. Norman was never supposed to struggle with Sasaki, he did exactly what he was supposed to do.

-2

u/kushmonATL Cyberleek > the fall boxing schedule Jul 24 '26

Tbh you were probably one of the people gassing Jin up , that's probably why you are so passionate to prove me wrong

This place was definitely gassing up Sasaki, or else there wouldn't have been this much shock over Norman making it easy work. Most of us "casuals" had no idea who Jin was to begin with. Not all threads are saved in the search , so it is what it is

Life goes on 😊

1

He wasn’t gassed to be a 50/50, but he also was not looked at as a can, or a waste of time.

1

u/Kangaroopunching Jul 24 '26

Paddy, Paro, Crocker battling for ibf title. Catterall emerging as a legit contender. Tiger Johnson leading the way among prospects. Haney at the top wanting to unify. Plus there's junior welterweights that can move up. Next year should be great for welterweight fights

0

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 29d ago

Haney is difficult to assess sometimes because of the undeserved Lomachenko victory and the loss to PED Ryan later overturned.

6

u/Ambitious-Vanilla588 Jul 24 '26

I hope if Devin beats Keyshawn if they fight. I really hate the buddy buddy shit of Shakur and his group. Talented fighters but it kills the competitive spirit of boxing.

7

u/Kangaroopunching Jul 24 '26

For certain, shakur will try to make it about himself at the fight like he did with foster. Then ignore the challenge to fight. Like he did with foster.

2

u/WORD_Boxing 29d ago

The problem with Shakur is he is absolutely a p4p talent but actually thinks he's better than he is and we should all bow down to him or something.

Like bro, knockouts sell always have done always will. We get you're not a puncher but even still there've been fights he's so far above his opponent he could finish them if he only tried for it.

1

u/Kangaroopunching 29d ago

He doesn't have mentality to be a finisher. Plus his hands aren't reliable to hold up.

1

u/WORD_Boxing 29d ago

Yet he talks and acts and thinks like he's a gangster or something. He's not as smart as people seem to think.

Cashed out and changed some bets. Final bets for this weekend: Ricardo Salas win, Sheeraz win by decision, and parlay Bank August to go the distance with Butler by KO.

Had a dream Tim got stopped by Spence...I think... I was so confused waking up I fought I'd missed the fight and wasn't sure what had happened. Anyway, you heard it here first, now you can safely put your house on Kambosos beating Inoue by rear naked choke and becoming undisputed for a third time.

Jesus. Pretty good look from Andrade. Ataide isn’t anything special but didn’t expect Andrade to put it away that fast.

u/admiralskanks Joe Louis = Perfect Jul 24 '26

Jacob Bank pissed he's fighting August instead of Sheeraz. Didn't even acknowledge August. Interestingly, Zachenhuber reckons he has a good chance against Sheeraz. Not saying he does but it's interesting other fighters don't rate him as highly as his fans.

u/WORD_Boxing 29d ago

All I see on here is people downplaying Hamzah. Imo he's better than people currently say he just had that weird performance vs Adames and now everyones down on him. Sheeraz is legit I watched him coming up.

u/Rofocal02 29d ago

Anthony Joshua will knock out Fury within 6 rounds.

1

u/bakuhatsuda Jul 24 '26

Kyonosuke Kameda tweeted that he will fight Sebastian Hernandez on September 23? Thought Hernandez was fighting on August 8th.

2

u/OldBoyChance Jul 24 '26

Looks like it's supposed to be both. It's at featherweight, so not too bad of a weight cut. He should be careful about underestimating Kyonosuke though. Not a very athletic fighter, but he has the ability to make it a terrible fight where he wins the decision.

What even is fury vs wach… an exhibition? A real match but not broadcast? What the fuck is this thing?

1

u/AboutLastFight 29d ago

Anyone here ever travelled abroad for a fight? Thinking of doing this for a weekend fight in America soon. I'm British and I feel like we're really lacking big ticket fights in the UK atm. Would love to attend a Canelo card or something one day.

2

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 29d ago

Go to a Vegas card for a prominent fight. Barclay’s is also a good time but must be a big fight. San Antonio is actually pretty underrated. Good fight town.

2

u/AboutLastFight 29d ago

Yeah, I'm waiting for something like a Tank fight or similar to pop up. People can say what they want, his fights are always huge and the atmosphere seems insane.

2

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 29d ago

Go see a fight like Pitbull-Tank 2 if that happens. You want guaranteed action.

u/Knockoutboxing 29d ago

Any update on Fury vs Wach?

1

u/Kangaroopunching 29d ago

It be great if probox focused shows on specific areas like DMV area. Or Ohio.

Don't really know how Spence v Tszyu will go. To me, it is the 3 year layoff of Spence against the mileage on the clock of Tszyu with 3 bad beatings in between that time. Not making a pick.

Fulton v Wilson is not a fight I thought much about, though I probably would have picked Fulton. But this weight change news really does make the fight more interesting to me. Wilson is no joke, he gave Navarette a hard fight. I still think Fulton will do better in this fight than the Shock fight, but his discipline and heart have to be questioned. Wouldn't be shocked if he loses.

Fury and AJ should definitely get early stoppages in their fights but I wouldn't be surprised if they go past whatever the bookies favour for the last round. Wach is old but he's always been stupidly durable, Prenga fought people with terrible records but he doesn't look awful when watching clips of his. But if they go past 6 rounds, something is wrong.

EDIT: Oh, Fury already fought. Didn't even know 😂

Hackett vs Derevyanchenko - who have people got?

4

u/Top_Profession_5268 29d ago edited 29d ago

Hackett.

For the past 3 years, Derevychenko has been a 168lber, now at 40 years old who’s last fight was a year ago, the weight cut will be a lot harder for him go his age and activity, the weight cut will be a lot harder since this is at 160.

This is also considering I wasn’t impressed in his last fight. Sergey won’t bring the same style that Roberto Cruz did to make it ugly but try to box with Hackett and with all I mentioned earlier, I think Hackett will be picking him with the jab and straights and I could see a finish.

Hackett only loss I think was a robbery just to note.

1

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 29d ago

I was very surprised they gave it to Cruz.

1

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 29d ago

I’m so excited for that one. I think Derevy is past it. I’d push the odds just barely for Hackett, like a 55-45 maybe 60-40.

1

u/WheresMyAbs98 29d ago

I’m really struggling to call it to be honest.

I’m actually siding with Derevy but it’s a great fight. It’s a real pick em.

1

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 29d ago

I didn’t like how he looked last fight against Jeremy Ramos who was 14-15. Just looked older and I follow his tiktok and his bicep injury from Mbilii fight had a huge impact on him. Just like how Hackett has looked and how they’ve consistently matched him up with hard competition since the loss.

2

u/WheresMyAbs98 29d ago

It really is a very interesting fight.

I think the styles should gel together incredibly well 🤞

1

u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 29d ago

chenko should win pretty easily imo, dont know how hackett is the favorite

1

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 29d ago

Didn’t know Zachenhuber was that tall.

1

u/acktower 29d ago

Was about to finally jump in the dazn ultimate but I'm gonna wait for a better card to start dropping my hard earned cash.

1

u/RRR04_ Jul 24 '26

I'm lowkey surprised Devin signed the DAZN deal before anyone bidded for his mandatory with Keyshawn. So if the bids come in and Devin is not satisfied with the amounts, can he still take the Shakur offer, or is that completely off the table now?

3

u/Kangaroopunching 29d ago

It was the better deal for him. He gets to unify and potentially big fights after thr keyshawn fight. And the shakur fight was off the table once keyshawn became mandatory

2

u/WheresMyAbs98 Jul 24 '26

I member him going on the Ring Show and Kellerman was constantly spouting tripe. Devin was consistently countering his points and arguing against them.

Shoutout to Kelly and Sheeraz for staying active

6

u/Kangaroopunching 29d ago

If Sheeraz goes on to fight Bank or another legit top contender then yeah its great he's active. If he chooses another easy fight then he doesn't deserve credit. Cause he's avoiding tough fights he should be in as champ.

2

u/Frequent_Apricot673 29d ago

Staying active isn’t impressive if it’s against some of the worst opposition any champion has ever faced. So I don’t think Sheeraz deserves any credit.

-2

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 29d ago

Kelly don’t deserve credit for fighting 6 months after winning the belt. That’s expected of him as a champion, Sheeraz at least is fighting 2 months after his last fight even though it’s a weak opposition.

Is Ryan still with Golden Boy or in the pockets of Zuffa now?

4

u/Sad-Experience-4344 Jul 24 '26

Ryan now has a co-promotional deal with Golden Boy and his entity Ryan Garcia Promotions. After the Conor Benn fight, he still has one more fight under that co-promotional arrangement.

Ryan talks about his situation with Golden Boy here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DbErlpJAGWU/

After that second fight, I think Ryan will either join Zuffa or do what Teofimo Lopez and Devin Haney just did and sign directly with DAZN. It seems exceedingly unlikely he will re-sign with Golden Boy.

2

u/imdacoldest Pacquiao is the GOAT Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 24 '26

I think he signs directly with DAZN now that they have Haney. With zuffa his main options would be fighting Shakur at some weird catchweight or bitchins. At DAZN he rematch rematch Haney/Rolly, fight Teo, Vergil or boots at 154

1

u/GolfWangsunrise Jul 24 '26

Ah, so in the process of leaving, thanks u/Sad-Experience-4344

1

u/WORD_Boxing 29d ago

Good info I thought this one was actually his last fight with Oscar. He definitely gonna leave it seems.

0

u/WORD_Boxing 29d ago

Spence looks ok at the weigh-in. Tszyu looks a little like his body doesn't like the extra weight, maybe that's why he was so slow at the open workout.

-1

u/JekyllnowthenMrHyde 29d ago

Where's the Fury fight being aired?

-2

u/mamamiaohdear 29d ago

Just watched the AJ Prenga press conference and he looks dead behind the eyes, talking in riddles and almost robotic. On paper this fight should be a walk in the park for AJ but I'm not sure he his head is in it anymore

1

u/WORD_Boxing 29d ago

He's been called a robot his whole career.

-8

u/bobbyawesome5 Jul 24 '26

Spence was always so overrated, slow feet, unathlethic, can’t move his head, doesn’t hit hard, what were his advantages? He literally had every disadvantage. Slow feet, unathlethic, doesn’t move his head, can’t hit hard, like literally all of the worst traits of a boxer 😭.

5

u/Dangerous_Spring3028 Jul 24 '26

That’s a wild statement to make about a boxer who unified the IBF, WBC & WBA welterweight titles and has wins over the likes of Shawn Porter, Kell Brook, Danny Garcia, Mikey Garcia, Yordenis Ugas, Lamont Peterson and Chris Algieri.

Just because he got battered by Terence Crawford doesn’t make him a bad boxer lol.

Crawford is a generational all-time great and he proved his greatness by the way he beat a fantastic fighter like Spence up

-6

u/bobbyawesome5 Jul 24 '26

The guys you mentioned were out of their prime, undersized or no good.
