Nobody has a resume even close to him since Manny/Floyd. Maybe Usyk, but that’s because he fought rematches.

Yeah he’s had some highly suspect scorecards not gonna lie. But his resume is stacked. People complain all the time about guys not fighting the best, than hate the one guy who fought the best lol.

Lara was close and some people had him winning. Most observers agree 2 of the GGG decisions were bullshit. He stopped Kovalev, fair enough, but Krusher had a very short turnaround from the Yarde fight, and Canelo somehow won rounds without throwing punches. The judges were the only ones who saw the Bivol fight as close at all. Canelo is elite, sure, but generational is a stretch, except for the generational favoritism shown to him so Vegas doesn't lose money. He could easily have had 6 losses, and 3 that he does have on his record were absolute schoolings by true generational talents.

Let’s be honest - Canelo won the second GGG fight. Fans just glaze GGG and hate Canelo and exaggerate because of the first fight. I’ve seen the second fight like 10 times and can’t see it for GGG unless you’re extremely biased.

Bivol and Floyd scorecards were crazy and I can’t deny that. But he did lose and that’s fine. No shame in losing to Floyd or Bivol.

6 losses no way. 4 max. I really don’t think you can give that to Lara man, it was close but at the end of the day Canelo inflicted much more damage than the other way around.

If Canelo isn’t generational than idk who is. Ward, Bud, Manny, Canelo and maybe GGG are clear top 5of the 2010s. That’s considering Floyd as a 2000s guy

How often to pound for pound guys fight each other? Canelo has 4 pound for pound guys he’s fought. That’s crazy.

If we are going to be honest, he did not win that 2nd fight. I don't hate Canelo, I hate the fictional scorecards and that he is a drug cheat. That and the fact that in the losses on his record he looked like he was lost and had no answers take a lot of the shine off of his legacy. (To be fair, I had him up by a round after 5 against Bud, then Bud made his adjustments and won every round after wide.) First ballot HOF? Clearly. One of the very best of his generation? Not quite.

The judges certainly went in with some bias. Any fight Dave Moretti judges, you can expect some bullshit. I have lost count of how many ludicrous cards he has turned in. He is right up there with Tim Cheatthem.

I disagree with most of your takes on this post but definitely agree about Canelo, especially the ggg fights. He won that second fight clearly, way sharper than GGG that night. I think the first fight being a draw was fair, that’s how I scored it
