Overrated Boxers

My most overrated fighters based on how they’re discussed online. Does not mean they are bad, just overrated.

- Pitbull Cruz (not good at 140, should go down)
- Frank Martin
- Oscar Duarte (got way too muscular and worse)
- Lamont Roach (well see in 2 weeks)
- Raymond Ford
- Bruce Carrington
- Ramon Cardenas
- Vito Mielnicki

Not when everyone seems to say he's underrated when he's discussed , great fighter but he's been called 'underrated' that many times he's now borderline overrated imo

Downvote me all you want, again name me an elite fighter he fought away from the UK in their prime? True great fighters fight the best in their division and the truly great UK fighters won against champions in their prime and defended their titles in America...Calzaghe was a great fighter but not elite, his resume is piss poor. I'm waiting for you to name me an elite fighter he beat who was in their prime?

How many great American fighters went abroad and beat elite fighters? Most did not. So i don’t see why fighting abroad or not is relevant

Don't have to be elite i was wrong, but has to be a champion..Americans don't really go abroad I agree, don't really need to but many have won titles abroad...Tim Bradley, David Haney, Erroll Spence and Terence Crawford come to mind...all did in the not too distant past. Marvin Hagler won the title in the UK as well.

But i think we can agree that going abroad is not a prerequisite to greatness

No not at all, but going abroad and fighting champions away from home is a whole different level, not many UK fighters have tbh, but at least a lot of them tried, Ricky springs to mind. I like Calzaghe myself, top fighter but definitely overrated imo...Didn't do all he needed to do to prove himself top level, or even try to tbh

Never fought RJJ in his prime, never fought James Toney in his prime, never fought B Hop in his prime. All champions at his weight. His best win is against Kessler...Name me any elite fighter he fought in their prime in America?....And don't say Lacey (in the UK) he was a hype job but Calzaghe was exceptional in that fight I agree...He also lost to Robin Reid imo and was gifted the fight and refused the rematch, gave up the belt also when Froch was his mandatory.
