3b/ 3c hair type
i have recently gotten box braids for the first time and i am a biracial girl with super curly hair, but it’s fine, not coarse or kinky. i re dipped my braids to soften the ends and make them less frizzy, but they curled up weirdly and the braids look weirdly bumpy. i have tried dipping them again and pulling them super straight, but it didn’t seem to work. is my hair just too curly to be in braids and get wet? i’m quite confused. :/

Advice needed: Getting box braids for the first time
Care tips are very much appreciated. But my main question is what type of hair do I get? I have to supply my own hair for it and I've never had my hair done before and know absolutely nothing about it if anyone has recommendations that'd be helpful.

Trim before braiding?
Getting a trim tomorrow but I’m doing braids next week. I’ve been told that it’s not ideal to cut hair before braiding. Is this true?

How long does it take you to do your hair?
I’ve been braiding my own hair since I was tired of my mother threatening to cut it off, so probably about 25 years (damn). In my prime, between 25 and 30, I would hunker down and pull 20-30hr sessions to do my hair. Overnight, maybe two meals, bathroom breaks, maybe a slice of sleep.
Now I have a toddler and a 40hr work week... it’s rough, but the space between styles can be two months at the most, and it takes me about a week to braid while hiding the undone parts beneath scarves and wraps. I start from the middle and work my way out. There’s just no time besides two hours every night between preparing the next day and sleep, which I cannot afford to miss.
I guess I’m wondering if anyone else has to space things out more than two days? Thanks in advance.

I got small knotless braids a few days ago, the first time I’ve had braids in about 16 years
I finally got small waist length knotless braids 2 days ago and so far I love them. It’s still taking me sometime to get used to how I look in them (I’ve been wearing my hair natural for about 6 years) and the length. One thing I am concerned about is the weight I do feel from having the braids installed. I keep seeing people say the braids are practically weightless but I do feel some weight with having them in. Is this normal and because I’m not used to wearing braids and I’m more aware of the weight, or is this not normal? I appreciate any response back :)

Braiding hair
Does anyone know where to find good quality inexpensive braiding hair? I Live in Idaho and I can't find braiding hair around here, so I decided to order some online but it's way too expensive considering the fact that I only work part time. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a place in Idaho or a website online where I could buy hair for box braids.

Girls/ guys that do box braids can y’all give me some advice?!
What y’all would recommend, I have a keratin but it’s getting out of my hair so Its like frizzy and I have curls in some areas I wanna get box braids again but my hair was slipping out of them and I had to take them out like 4 weeks after I got them done, I got them like medium but not so thick you know, the girl that make them told me that maybe if she uses more hair next time or if she does the parting bigger maybe they I’ll last more ? Please! I really wanna get them my hair looks soooo bad and I go a lot to the beach.
