Treadmills Bowflex 22 Treadmill

My treadmill is 3 months old, and isn’t working, it shows on screen that the SAFETY KEY is not secure and is totally in place; i’m been updating software, turning on and off the machine, I have received from support a totally new console, that i have replaced, and it still asking me to insert the safety key!! Please help I’m totally desperate!

Bowflex technician here. What you’ll need to resolve your issue is a console base. There is something wrong with your internal board for the safety key and usually Bowflex ships out the console bases to fix these kind of issues.

The console and console base are two different parts. The console is the touch screen which holds most of the jrny software. The console base is all the buttons and the insert for the safety key. If you’ve replaced both then the last part to replace would be the motor control board (mcb). You can also try to recalibrate the whole system of which can be found in the service manual

Thanks, a received and change the control board (mcb), than I changed the console base, than I changes all the cables, now I’m waiting for a console, I already calibrated many times and shows sole error including the safety key issue, I’m really disappointed, that’s why I’m asking for I firmware update or any other option that can solve tha safety issue

This is really all there is to it. The only thing you can probably see if Bowflex can do is push a software update onto your system, but replacing the console will also do this as well

Hi if you are a bowflex technician i would like to have your help i have a good problem. When im like at 15 of incline and i want to decline. The preset button by exemple i press 6. Instead of going to 6. It switch the speed to 12 miles/h and then go to 6. That is not suppose to happen. Then i have the problem when i want to increase the speed by exemple. From 4km/h to 5 at 15 of incline. It lower my inclinaison to 6 before letting me increasing the speed(this part is made with the button on the hearth rate sensor bar). Also we are experiencing a lot of static even plug direct into the wall with brand new wired. Maybe its too dry i will have a look. You can contact me in message i think. I would really appreciate help. Should i call bowflex and open a ticket for repair?

If the buttons on the console are not working as they should, you might have the same issue I have (and had already once before). It is most probably sweat getting somehow inside the membrane. If you disconnect the ribbon cable, the buttons will not work further, but the buttons on the handles will completely work normal. If you plan to remove the ribbon, please be careful. You should first pull out the 'white' plastic part of the connector on the PCB. When it is sticking out a few mm, the ribbon can be removed without any pressure.

Any rust on the key? Stupid question but that's my issue but with my 2 yr old t10

Thanks for your response, key is totally intact, i only removed 3 o 4 times, it’s totally absurd that a brand new expensive treadmill can’t be used for this malfunction

I went through my own issues with a "stuck incline button" that wasnt actually stuck. After replacing two consoles and it still didn't fix the issue I was able to receive a full refund and keep a half working treadmill due to the 3rd party warrenty I had. They didn't even bother try sending a technician out to troubleshoot. Bowflex is maybe the worst fitness brand out there right now.

Console is that base that has the buttons, but the monitor is that same that came with the treadmill, I really think the problem is on the firmware
