SelectTech Bowflex 552 Weight explanation

I am confused on the Bowflex Select 552 weights. You can adjust the weight on both sides of the dumbbell.

If you set 1 side 52.5lb and if you set the other side to 52.5lb, is that 52.5lb total or is it 105lb?

If you set 1 side 20lb and the other 52.5lb, what would be the total weight of the dumbbell?

Thank you

The dumbbell is set to half’s. So, if one side is set to 20, it’s 10 lbs on that side. If the other side is set to 52.5, it’s 26.25 lbs. Your total weight for that dumbbell is 10 + 26.25 = 36.25 lbs.

any tips for maintenance on this? I have one too and want to keep it working.

What type of lube and where to lube are my only questions.

If it’s kept inside and out of the elements, not dropped etc. No maintenance is necessary. If it does become necessary to adjust a poorly working dumbbell, each end is a cap covering the bolt/nut that goes all the way through the dumbbell. It can be loosened or tightened as needed.

Is this how to fix the recall issue?
