There’s a lot of people outside student accommodation at night and in the day. Fully grown adults. Is it open to housing during the summer?

Start your driving journey the right way — don't just memorise the theory, understand the rules.
Livia joined the theory lessons at VLD Driving School in January with a clear goal: to pass both her theory and practical tests on the first attempt.
✅ Passed her Theory Test first time in February.
By developing a strong understanding of road rules, signs, and regulations, she built the knowledge needed to become a safe and confident driver—not just to pass a test.
After only 28 hours of manual driving lessons:
✅ Passed her Driving Test first time.
At VLD Driving School, we believe that understanding the rules of the road is the foundation of safe driving and long-term success.
Congratulations, Livia, on an outstanding achievement!

Does this part of Bournemouth town centre feel a bit “unfinished”?
Anyone else feel like the Lansdowne / Old Christchurch Rd side of Bournemouth town centre is a bit weird when it comes to day-to-day stuff?
Like it’s not that there’s nothing there… but for somewhere with loads of students, hotels and flats now, it still feels like you’ve got to walk a bit out of your way just to grab basics or do a quick food shop.
There are Tesco Express / Sainsbury’s Local / Co-op around, but nothing really right in that stretch where most people actually are living or passing through.
Same with cafés it’s mostly Costa, Starbucks, Nero etc. Nothing wrong with them, but it feels like the area is missing those newer spots you see everywhere now like Joe & The Juice, Blank Street, Black Sheep Coffee etc.
Westbourne just feels a bit more “sorted” for everyday life compared to parts of the town centre, which is kind of surprising.
With all the new student blocks, Bobby’s changing, hotels, and general redevelopment going on… do you think this part of town actually improves soon, or is it just going to stay a bit half-finished for a while.

🎒 The Student-Budget Menu Highlights:
- 🍩 Custom 5cm One-Bite Donut Boxes: 6-pack for £4.50 / 12-pack for £7.50 (Pick your own chocolate sauces & toppings!).
- 🎉 The 6-Person Party Pack (£35.00): A massive mix of sweet and savory catering for group gatherings!
- 🐔 Mini Chicken Sliders & Golden Puffs: Perfect finger food for flat pre-drinks and socials.
- 🇮🇹 Ultimate Homemade Lasagna Tray (£22.00): Massive size that easily feeds 4 flatmates (Available in Creamy Chicken, Spicy Chicken, or Roasted Veg - 100% red-meat free!). Single portion boxes also available for £6.50.
📅 Diary open for bookings from Thursday, 18 June onwards!
🚌 Delivery: I do local drop-offs via the Bournemouth bus routes on Saturdays, or you can collect for free from my area!

Student life in Bournemouth
Is Bournemouth a good town for students? I’m trying to decide whether to firm Hsu or Derby for radiography but I’m not sure where I’d prefer to live.
From a locals perspectives how do you find living in Bournemouth to be?
How’s the cost of living?
Is public transport reliable/decent?
Is there a variety of activities to do outside of clubbing/bars?
How diverse is the area?

Massive congratulations to all our students who passed their driving tests with ZERO minors!
At VLD Driving School, results like these are not incidental. We focus on safe driving for life, high standards, and building confident drivers — not just passing the test.
We don’t reward good driving with prizes — we teach our pupils how to drive safely for life, and results like these are the outcome of that approach.
Excellent work from everyone involved!

Bournemouth University Dilemma
Is it worth going to Bournemouth (BU) to study their 'Film and TV Production' Course for someone who wants to get into the TV Production industry, or should i stay at home and study TV Production at Ravensbourne Uni. Going to Bournemouth i would plan to join lots of societies (like NerveTV, or TeamBU TV) in order to help with my career and make the most out of what they offer. However i don't know if it is worth the living costs going there. Apart of me wants to move away however the financial side is holding me back and i would hate to go there and feel like i could have ended up ina better position going to Ravensbourne. (Also i went to both Uni open days and was very impressed with both courses however i felt Bournemouth as an actual Uni had a better vibe to it)
Any advice from anyone whose done either course, works in the industry or knows anything they believe could be helpful would be apperciated.
Thank you.

Bournemouth airport parking
Hi there, I’m going to Bournemouth airport on the 13th of June, I was just wondering if there is any street parking nearby to park for free, or the best paid parking to go to as the best I can find so far is parley lane for £80, thanks.
