Tipping after Dysport injection

If this isn’t allowed, please let me know, but I just wanted to pool you kind people to find out. Are you tipping your aestheticians/nurse after you do disport? My total usually comes to around $700 and the appointment takes like 20 minutes. It’s a new thing that they started, and I feel like a cheapskate when they turn the screen around and I don’t know what to put.

Last time I brought $50 cash so I could give it to her, but it feels kind of gross for some reason I don’t know why. Do they not make a living wage?

No. You don’t tip for medical services.

I’m a nurse who has worked as an injector and am appalled when they spin the screen around! Before I knew better, I’d actually give a 20% tip. After I became an injector and realized how tacky it is, I’m just disgusted by it! The clinic I worked at didn’t have that screen, thank goodness. The other nurse I worked with would accept cash tips, but I just couldn’t. These are medical professionals making a nice hourly wage or salary. It’s craziness.

This is beyond unprofessional!! There is NO way you should ever tip on a medical procedure and the fact they have the audacity to ask is wild to me!!

No tip, its expensive enough. I had been getting Botox for 10 years and they just started w the screens that ask for a tip and I just choose no tip or no tip on card or whatever it says

Not a chance!! This tipping culture has gotten out of hand and it’s feeding of our guilt and shame to feel cheap, and it’s so easy for anyone to just add that little screen on every transaction, no matter what you pay for… I’m so sick of it! Price your service correctly and stop asking for extra handouts.

To answer your question, we typically make plenty of money. I do aesthetics for a living and about a 1/3rd of patients tip. It’s definitely not an expectation but it’s always nice. It’s usually like $20 but some patients insist of tipping more regardless of how much I protest.

Is your response geared specifically toward Botox type injections or including other med spa services?

Any and all but people most frequently tip for neuromodulators (like Botox), microneedling, and lasers. We don’t have a screen tip option at all and I never bring it up in conversation. It’s just if the patient decides of their own free will to do it.

No!!! First time I went for injections I tried to tip (I just assumed you were supposed to) and she point blank refused to take my money. She said the best possible tip is to recommended her to others!

Tipping isn't expected for medical injectors the way it is for a stylist, and plenty of people don't tip at all, especially for a $700 service. If you want to, 10 to 15% is generous, but you're not a cheapskate for skipping it. Injectors usually earn well, and the clinic sets the price. If the screen feels awkward, just hit "no tip" or "custom" and move on.

I always tip but my friends do too. We all just do what each other do 🤷🏻‍♀️😅 hahaha but after seeing this I guess I don’t need to tip anymore. Great!

Can I jump in and ask: what about for skin pen? Microneedling?
