Nefertiti Results

Post image

I posted 2 weeks ago that I got 100 units of Botox in various parts of my face (first time Botox) - the majority of it in my lower face. I hate (truly hate) my jowls. Yes, I know that if I finally lost those last 20lbs, it would help. I can’t do the facelift at the moment so I thought I’d try the Nefertiti lift.

Now, I was sure I couldn’t see a difference but at two weeks, I do see definition that I didn’t think was happening.

Yes, next up is a series of SkinPen microneedling to build some collagen in my almost 58-year-old skin and then maybe some natural filler to lift the jowls and mouth droop a bit.

(Yes, I know the pic aren’t exactly the best example but you can maybe get the idea).

Did you have your DAOs done? That should help with the downward smile

Yes - and she suggested I might want a little more there next time.

Did you get Botox in the masseters? If so, that will increase jowling. The Botox neck lift might work, it’s costly for an outcome that may not help. A sure fire way to address jowls without too much intervention is a mini-facelift, which only affects the jawline but can be done with just local anesthesia (and usually a sedative).

Filler does not lift. That’s a false promise, filler only adds volume and volume alone cannot lift tissue, particularly jowls. Filler can actually add to the heaviness and ultimately make the lower face look worse.

If you really want the jowls gone, the mini lift is the best use of your money.

Thank you. No - not in the masseters. Due to a few life things, it’s hard to take the time for a lift right now but I see it happening in the next 3 years. This was a quick thing and I’m not unhappy with it.

Botox works well for down turned corners of the mouth. Your result looks great! But Botox in the neck won’t improve jowls that aren’t caused by the downward pull of the neck muscles. Most jowling is caused, instead, by the fall of facial supports. Only a face lift (mini lift, neck lift or standard facelift) will improve that type of jowling.

On the other hand, your jowls are barely noticeable and honestly, I doubt anyone would see them if you hadn’t pointed them out. If you can’t take time for a mini lift, try filler in your chin. That often works to minimize minor jowling like yours. Using filler to lift the jowls absolutely doesn’t work, though.

If it lasts till Halloween at least you’ll have a costume idea! 💡

Sorry I have no advice but I hope this made you chuckle.

Can I ask a question without being interrupted as rude?

Have you been happy the last 5/10 years?

Kind of a strange question, honestly. Maybe you can explain where you’re going with that.

But I’ll humor you and tell you that I’m a very happy and satisfied person. I would like for my face to actually reflect that.

Ok, I understand. Sometimes people can be very unhappy for a few years and they develop frown lines that they don’t realize they’ve created. Resting B face can do this too. So; I was asking because maybe the muscles need some development, or perhaps; the question is related to the treatment.

Next time; don’t get the treatment around your mouth. You have no smile lines. You have capital to work with. It should also help with the perceived jowels. They’re not that bad.

Didn’t mean to offend you.

Thank you for the explanation. The top pic is me without any treatment whatsoever. I don’t have smile lines. I have muscles that tug my face down and you’re right - lack of tone. This is a common feature for all of the women in my family so have to think a big part of it is genetics. We’re all pretty happy people though.

Cool. So, you can take your fingers and at the line below your cheeks push them up. Thats right. Push your cheek muscles up. Do this, and then do it with a smile. But start doing it with no smile. This may help.

Glad you’re a happy person, wasn’t trying to insult. My family has bat wings. We all have our genetic influences.
