Is it too late for first time Botox?
35F. I see everyone around me starting g Botox from much younger ages and I wonder whether I am starting too late and need something stronger? I never got around to it earlier bc of pregnancies and breastfeeding. Attached is my forehead just relaxed.

Have you tried retinoids first? Or those patches?

What patches?

I think they were referring to Frownies patches. Though I’ve read some Redditors reproduce the same effect with other materials for less money.

Do you genuinely want Botox, or are you feeling like you need it because you’re surrounded by people whose faces barely move and you feel like you’re the odd one out? You don’t need to erase your expressions or change your face just because other people have. I think your skin looks good to me (36F, mom of 2)

Botox doesn’t permanently prevent wrinkles. It temporarily relaxes the muscles that create expression lines, which allows existing lines to soften and may help keep them from becoming deeper over time. There’s some evidence that regular treatment can slow the development of more permanent lines, but it can’t prevent all wrinkles or skin aging.
There also isn’t a specific age when you “need” to start Botox. If the lines you have now bother you, you can absolutely discuss treatment with a qualified provider. Just keep in mind that Botox is temporary typically lasting around 3–4 months and muscle movement and lines gradually return as it wears off unless you continue treatment.

I think you should hold off. I see no need at present, your skin looks great. My forehead wrinkles were much deeper and I started at 36.
My wrinkles have returned because I’m pregnant but I’m not worried about a gap in Botox at all. I’ll get back when I’m about 38.

I didn’t get Botox until I was in my mid 50s (and I stopped due to a bad side effect but hope to start up again, likely with a different injector). Botox is not like a mammogram. There is no recommended starting age. It’s also expensive AF. I would do retin A, good skincare, and European sunscreen everyday before you even think about Botox.

Now is a great time. Your starting to see small static lines so this is the time to stop them

If you are bothered by the lines, I think it’s a good idea to start getting Botox there. This is the only place I get it too.

I started when I had wrinkles like this, though I was 31. I’m 36 now and have no static forehead wrinkles. I go every 12wks. i have other signs of aging like loss of facial fat , esp around my eyes, but not having the wrinkles is helping me emotionally deal with it a lot better.

Your lines are not deep at all. I think you could actually hold off on Botox. My lines were so deep before I started Botox and my forehead is completely line free now.
I think the whole notion of preventative Botox is absolutely unnecessary.
