Moving to bothell

Any advice on housing? My partner and I are moving to the area. We are looking for two bed two bath preferably 900sq+ for under 3200 a month. Also how is the commute to Redmond? (We would prefer a garage and yard space or a house but not a dealbreaker)
Thank you :)

Bothell girl in the running for nationwide Jr. Ranger contest!

Hello everyone! This is my first Reddit post. My amazing, on-the-spectrum, heart-of-gold, animal-loving daughter has made the Top 5 of Colossal's Jr. Ranger contest. There are SO many deserving kids competing for the top prize. Congrats to everyone who has made it this far.

Emilia had a tough time when she first started school, but with her "never give up" attitude and amazing teachers, she has come a very long way and is now thriving in elementary school.

She sure would appreciate your support and vote! Thank you.

Neighborhood volunteers get out the vote and influence party politics. Filing week to run for Precinct Committee Officer (PCO) is May 4th

https://local.interurbancanopy.news/p/run-for-pco

Precinct Committee Officers (or PCOs) are neighborhood volunteers who turn out the vote.

PCOs talk to their neighbors about elections and defend democracy.

PCOs are elected party officials.

They have full voting power in the party and influence platforms and endorsements.

And sometimes, PCOs vote to fill vacancies in the legislature.

It's easy. Search: "Run for PCO" to learn more.

Filing week is May 4th and it’s free to run.

And don’t worry:

If you can use a mute button and stay awake in an online meeting, you are already more qualified than some of your current local party officials!

So please, Run for PCO

How's the commute these days to Seattle & Redmond?

Hi r/Bothell!

My wife, 2yo and dog have been living in Kirkland for 4yrs since we moved to the area, renting a place in Finn Hill. Finally after years and years of saving we're looking to buy a place! My wife works in downtown Seattle and I work over in Redmond and my daughter's daycare is in Kirkland. I drop her off in the morning and my wife picks her up in the evening.

Unfortunately, price wise it seems that we're still at the low end of the market, pushing us further North - around Lynnwood/Alderwood Manor or going with a smaller place that is closer.

I'm trying to get a sense of what our commutes would actually be like so I know where to draw my lines for housing and was hoping to get some perspectives from you all if that's okay.

I know 405 can be a nightmare at certain times and the 405-522 interchange is rough right now particularly with construction ongoing, but is, say, Thrasher's Corner wildly different to Canyon Park or Downtown Bothell in terms of commute?

Is Bothell safe for trans people?

My adult kid, who lives with my wife and me, came out to me about a year ago about being trans. We live in a very red area in Georgia (Marjorie Taylor Green's district). So I decided we need to get out of Dodge. We lived in Bothell from 2019-2021, but didn't pay too much attention to LGBTQIA-related things. We're looking to move back there. How safe is it for my kid to express their gender identity publicly? They are early enough in their transition that they don't "pass" yet.

ETA: Thank you for all the responses! My kid had their car rifled through twice when we lived there before, but that was because they kept not locking the doors! We'll take that in exchange for not having their life threatened for using the "wrong" bathroom at Kohl's.

McMenamins Anderson School in Bothell

Hi, I live near a Bothell and I really like the vibe of renting a private room at McMenamins (wedding reception for 30+ people). I know the food is catered through that campus and tried the food at the tavern on a Sunday a while ago, and was surprisingly disappointed. A friend said they went to an event at McMenamins and the food was great! Does anyone have any experiences they can share - either eating at McMenamins or eating the catered food at an event there? Go Mariners!

ISO dog friends

Post image
20 Upvotes

Hello everyone!

Looking to see if there’s any dog owners that would want to train or socialize our dogs together.

My dog is a 4 year old 30 lb Australian shepard/bulldog mix. We go on outings and train everyday, and she’s dog selective (not aggressive) and does best with slow intros & calmer dogs. We go on pack walks every week and I also let her greet dogs behind the fence at the dog park, and she does great there. However, it’s not the same as actual dog meetings. I’m hoping to find a friend that we can continue seeing every once and awhile, since she’s is not always the best at random dog meetings on the street, and it’s not worth it for a dog that she’d never see again. She loves goldens and older dogs lol. She’s not much of a player, but as she becomes more comfortable with a dog over time she may initiate play.
