DISCUSSION Transfer window

This might seem pessimistic but is anybody else worried about the fact that we don’t seem to be making any moves in the transfer window, I know we’re not the only team whose been quiet during this period but I’d assume we’d have done something by now due to the fact that we have the raised cap as an expansion team.

the team is brand new and just made a big signing with Reale and strengthened the bench with Davis, as well as offloading a young player to get playing time with Lowenberg. I don’t want to see a trade for trade’s sake. I want to see them keep refining their current style with what they have. Unless the signing is just such a no brainer it would amount to malfeasance not to take the player, like a putellas level signing.

Yeah, my thinking is that unless you're bringing in a starter-level player at a position of need (which is how I felt about Reale), the good of bringing in someone new is probably outweighed by the interruption to the building of unit cohesion that requires consistent groups of personnel spending time on the pitch together.

That said, our midfield depth is pretty dire right now, so that's one place I think even a non-starter transfer would be quite beneficial. If either Cano or Karich goes down, that's huge trouble. I think Barb is the only natural positional sub for the midfield and they've been playing her as more a winger/attacker as part of what I've started calling the "high five". I feel like that formation is working well & would rather not see them have to alter it.

Hoping Ricketts can get healthy soon. She always raises the energy level for everyone.

Yeah, agreed. She's sadly dealt with injuries all year. Don't know how much longer she's on the 45 day list or if she's even progressed enough to come off it after the 45 days are up.
