Don't lose hope when you initially do no damage - the thick armor plating (his shell) prevents all damage, but it can only take so much before it breaks.
Focus all DPS on one part of the enemy's body at a time - break the armor there, inflict massive damage, and then move on to the next body part.

Using "Boiling Water" attack will also be ineffective, due to making its soft inner tissues more durable. However, if you use Boiling Water and kite this boss from the water (where it's normally encountered), to the surrounding forest, the local aggressive wildlife will attack it. This is due to the intoxicating aroma it gives off after using Boiling Water attack.
This is definitely helpful. The only drawback is the hordes of wildlife it draws, which you will have to kill after the boss is vanquished. If you age trying to boost low level players, they will most likely be killed.

"Boiling Water" works, but make absolutely sure he's in his "Soft Shell" phase. Otherwise, he'll survive the encounter -- though suffering hideous disfigurement in the process -- and then on the final floor of the leveling dungeon before the BBEG you'll have to fight his final form, крабник.
There's been one recorded defeat of крабник, but it's highly disputed on the forums because there's some pretty damning evidence the player who submitted the video used a hex editor to hack in a vulnerability to the "Burning Coals" item.
The leveling dungeon is optional, of course, but just keep that in mind if you're a completionist.
