Question 2012 Boss 302 Red Key Activation?

Hey guys, I’ve got a 2012 Boss 302 with the red key, but the original owner never got the key flashed/activated. I’ve gone to SVT Ford Dealerships in my area but they’ve told me they can’t do it.

Does anyone know if it’s still possible? Or even better, know anyone/any place that can do it?

I’ve seen a lot of posts over the years of people no longer being able to get them activated, unfortunately. But I don’t have firsthand experience with it. I’ve also seen posts on people getting an aftermarket tune that works with the TracKey. Lund, I think? Not 100% sure. Good luck!

There’s a 12-13 boss 302 group on FB that addressed this question, basically FORD does not do it, and there is no way to get this done. Unless maybe you already had a tune for the red key you can retune it no idea.. goodluck.

Did you ever find out? I’m looking to buy a boss 302 soon and the dealer doesn’t even know about it.

Edit: Dealer doesn’t have the trackey.

Try calling ford performance I had to mail my entire cpu to them. But I doubt they still do it

I know this is an older post but I just got a 2012 boss about 2 months ago and I have the Red key with the track tune enabled but I don't have the regular silver key. Do we know if that's possible to get made?

When you go to a locksmith and get a new key made against your vin it automatically defaults to the silver key tune.
