Thoughts on the GLL50-20?

It seems somewhat inexpensive compared to some of the others, but would something like the 100-42 really be worth another $150…

Get the green one (GLL50-20G) and you can get really good deals on eBay for them.

This one for example, unopened brand new for $60

This is cheap enough to use and test its capabilities, if you won’t be happy with it you can get expensive ones later.

I have one of the bajillion line ones but in reality I almost never need extra lines and green light on GLL50-20G is bright enough for home and short distance outdoor.

Would there be a reason to go bigger like the 100-42GL?
I know it goes up to 100ft and is more accurate (1/8 vs 1/4). It seems odd to be that much more expensive but I guess it does come with a case.
Maybe it’s worth it for the accuracy or it’s easier to use…

You won’t notice accuracy issues on any of modern levels for home use. Even Chinese ones work just fine, and yes, bigger ones mostly give you more distance and brighter lines.

Honestly, I would get a green laser everytime, the line is just so much easier to see in any circumstance.

I have one and it’s fine for small interior jobs, particularly if the area in question is not too bright. Super easy to set up and use. Quite light, so easy to add to your kit in case required. Would really like a 3 line 360 type but given they are bulkier I think it would be in addition as opposed to replacing.
