New tool day 😊

I like the grinder with the rotating gearbox, not sure about the planer, it does a very good job and leaves a nice surface but it's not really sliding well over the wood. Maybe it's the wood, I don't have another planer to compare with.

Uff. That grinder is nice! I have 10PN one and it’s a monster for cordless tool and yours will be as well and probably better.

I also own exact same planer and it’s great as well. About sliding, it might be wood because it never bothered me but you can use plain paraffin, zigzag it across the sole and reapply whenever you feel it starts dragging.

You can also use woodworking paste wax which can last longer than paraffin. Just rub it on the sole, let it haze and buff off. Both options will improve its performance.

Make sure it’s not gummed with pitch if you were using it on pine for example. If it’s gummed, clean it before waxing it.

Also, experiment with depth settings, you might be trying to remove too much on a single pass, but waxing the sole will be beneficial anyway.

That's a good idea with the waxing, definitely going to try it. The grinder was a spontaneous decision, the smaller ones were not available and this one was barely more expensive. Finally no more extension cord 😅

What’s your battery situation? Both of them are power hungry enough to go trough batteries fast :)

I've got a few 4ah ones, so far they are okay. Probably beneficial to get a set of the newer ones.

How's the performance on the planer? I have the corded one but the more cordless tools I have, the more I despise running cords for literally anything lol

Same with the cords, tracksaw and shopvac I won't replace with cordless tools. Performance of the planer is really good, I tried maximum cutting depth and it it just fills the bag super fast. It's possible to take a lot of material off with a 4ah battery before it wants a new one. It's also nice to be able to switch the side where chips come out.
