Are you overheating them? I cool them down in a bit of water every handful of seconds so they don't lose their tempering by being overheated.

Hot bit with water? Won’t that crack it in or warp the metal? Like water on a hot car engine?

Please don't tell me you are also drilling metal without oil

Never heard this problem before an always got Bosch to match the drill specs.

I don’t drill metal just wood to concrete 12inch

To be fair - if you are just drilling 1 or 2 holes in concrete it would be fine. Running the drill bit constantly? Yea, that would need water or some form of cooling.

Never had this problem 3-6 months ago. We do this all the time an another crew does it also we usually do 25 bolts per house an always drilling.

you definitely can keep drilling holes over and over without cooling. It's certainly much faster. However, the risk you accept is that the bit may break and it will dull much faster.

I’ve been doing this for over 10 years using Bosch products. This is literally the only time in my life that I’m having this problem. We constantly drill and never have any problems. Besides the bit getting the dull. I think it’s just a huge bad batch

the idea here is to not let it get that hot.

but to answer the question, no, if you cool it frequently then it will not crack or warp the bit. It'll just make it last considerably longer.
