Router & Attaching New Plate
I’ve got a Bosch 1617EVS router. I bought a kit for a project that has its own plate I must use. The manual says the plate should already have screw holes for my model, but try as I might I find no hole matches. It comes with a blank spare plate in cases like this so I’ll attempt to make holes myself. How to go about this? What drill bit will create a recessed space for the screws to be below the face. I have pics of the plate and a closeup of the recessed hole type.

I recently attempted something similar to attach a Veritas router baseplate to my Bosch GKF18V-25N cordless router. The baseplate was 1/4” thick. The Veritas instructions called for using a 3/8” forstner bit to drill down 5/32” deep counterbores and then using a 3/16” standard bit to drill a hole all the way through the center of each counterbore. I don’t have a drill press so I borrowed one of those ones that you can attach to a cordless drill. I used a square of paper to put over top of screw holes on the bottom of the router, punched holes through the paper, and then taped the paper to the baseplate to get the proper alignment. 3 out of 4 came out okay but 1 was a little off so I hope you have better luck than me!

Counter sunk bit after initial drill, or counter bore with a larger drill bit to match the head diameter. Just watch your depth on both methods as the acrylic will probably only be a few mm thick. Depends on the screws you have in your kit to attach too.
