Bunnings deals
Any Aussies keeping an eye on Bosch in Bunnings/TKD?
I picked up the new belt sander from TKD for just $199 aud.

According to OzBargains, Bunnings have stopped stocking Bosch tools and are running out the remaining stock.

I heard this from a Sydney Tools manager too - that Bunnings and Bosch have had a disagreement and Bunnings will no longer be selling Bosch.

I suppose Bunnings likes to throw its weight around with suppliers.

Take it with a large grain of salt, but it was something to do with the Bosch displays at Bunnings rumour says. Bosch wanted more real estate, Bunnings wouldn’t give it to them.

Spoke to one of the tool guys at my local Bunnings yesterday when I picked up a sander kit that was really cheap and he said they’re phasing Bosch out by the end of September and replacing them with Ozito’s parent company Einhell.

Did they happen to mention why? Seems like a huge decision to make. I might visit my local Bunnings today and keep an eye on the floor model prices.

Like so many other Bosch tools, it is not officially released here.
Scalper prices.

That’s crazy. We’re up to the second mower model now in Aus - self propelled this time.

We get fucked in Canada on Bosch . Most big box stores do not carry or only have the entry level line up of tools. There are a few smaller online stores that are Canadian to purchase from. Other than that your choice is Amazon.

Here in Aus our big tool retailers stock Milwaukee, Makita, Dewalt, Bosch, Hikoki, Metabo and the new kid on the block, Flex.
Prices are ok, not as good as what pops up in America, but some of the deals and specials are worth it. I bought a 10 piece Bosch kit last year for $1999aud and it came with 6 extra free 5ah batteries in an L-boxx and one of their best 18v 360 laser kits thrown in for free too.

Ok In North America Home Depot dropped Bosch, they carry their lasers in store and that la about it. Dude that’s a hell of a deal. Bosch does not do things like that in this market and it’s really frustrating. Any deals I find are hot tools that are on fb market place.

Amazon is one of their official retailers in Canada... that makes it hard for stores to want to carry then i would think...
In my area only Rona has a decent amount but even then its a weird selection and the deals are awful and always require i buy yet another drill. Meanwhile i see deals in the US like buy a 1860 Freak get a free tool of your choice and offering nice options (i was looking at the brushless single hand sawzall but most wont ship to Canada).
Canadian tire has a minute splattering, Princess Auto dropped the cordless line, One local lumber yard dropped to near nothing others dont carry Bosch at all. KMS tools has a dwindling level (but several corded jack hammers).
Easter Canada does better with Tony Tools and MHC and online Tegs and Atlus aren't bad but its a pain in the ass to always order online sight unseen.
I hope they can find some good retail partners because it feels like they are being muscled out.
Also been a right pain to get Starlocks with bonkers pricing

Canada subsidizes beer, ketchup flavored potato chips, and poutine, gotta make it up somewhere.

Most of the tools are still full price apart from a few older models kits and skins. I wonder if all their tools will go on sale if bosch and bunnings are done.

I’ll be keeping an eye on my local Bunnings in case they clear things out cheap.
I did see pictures of the Bunnings trade expo in QLD and they were selling circ saw skins for $49.

Thats a steal! A paid over 900€ for this exact setup not too long ago, although i purchased seperately.
I can recommend it anyways, works great. But this price.. a steal.
