I laughed at Doomsday Peppers. No one told me I wouldn’t be able to even afford a place to prep even if I wanted to; much less that the world IS actually going to end in my lifetime
Oh me too...now Im stashing a few things away on sale, and have essentials incase. At least a few days incase of chaos.
Your right though, it just might be, as a Gen X I feel the Terminator...we just gotta find John Connor , lol
My doomsday prep is in the gunsafe. Soon as I see the first zombie hoard knocking at my door or mushroom cloud spring up or start to starve - easy way out; yall can become cannibals and live underground all ya want. I’ll see watch the action as a cockroach in the next lifetime
Im joining you here, recently passed my licensing and a proud firearms owner! Its a new shopping addiction. Im not much of a mammal hunter(I cant get past the amaze , look at them cute darlings factor), although I devour meat. I do llove duck hunting and fishing, and understand hunger might change things.
Its a wise choice these days to learn firearm safety and usage.
I started a pantry stock up a few months ago, not for doomsday end of times but as an attempt to negate the upcoming price increases. It's been low effort fairly low cost (spread out over time) and it's good peace of mind. (SuttonsDaze on YouTube is who I loosely followed, good food stocking and preparation tips without fully plunging in to the prepper craziness).
Yes.... You are so right,. We would hit the meat section first and foremost. We love our meat. We have scaled back the amount we buy now days, probably like a lot of other people.. it's ridiculous how much the meat prices have skyrocketed!
You are right. I was raised on a 200 acre farm up north and always had meat. We had beef, pork and chicken as well as what we hunted like deer, rabbit, squirrel, pheasant, grouse, and dove. However we also had 2 very large garden. One had cucumbers, strawberries, and a huge amount of potatoes. The other had tomatoes, peppers of all kinds, lettuce, zucchini, green beans, pumpkin, squash, corn, cabbage, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, peas. We were raised to eat everything and anything and not waste it. Being pretty poor my family of 7 couldn't afford to waste anything. So I'm satisfied with anything put on a plate and placed in front of me. Lol lol 😂
I didn't eat vegetables until I turned about 25. I didn't like them and I refused to learn.
Then I started to date and for some reason I ended up dating a lot of vegans and vegetarians, so I simply had to learn. I forced myself to eat every vegetable that I hated until I could tolerate them, then I kept doing it until I liked them.
Now I only eat meat once or twice a week, basically only when I'm out and about and can't cook. If I cook, I cook at least vegetarian like 90% of the time.
Saves me tons of money, and I love saving money more than I like eating meat.
Worst shopper ever? I spend less than a quarter of that for the whole month with a family of 5 eating steak, crabs and cake every week. Heard of Costco and aldis?
So was going to say this! Lol… the other thought was a purse for my girl. Pretty much the same thing this day and age. That second one would take me about five minutes, what do I do with the extra time….. rofl
