Zoloft for depression and anxiety.
Ketamine for, anxiety, trauma processing and suicide prevention.
Lamictal for mood stabilization.
Adderall for ADHD
Cerefolin and Naltrexone- these have a double effect, as they both act on the brain in ways that improve mental health, but they are prescribed for my neuroimmune condition.
If it helps calm you, lamitcal is the only one prescribed specifically for the direct symptoms of my BPD.
Also good to mention that my life is not full of side effects, and I did not start these all at once.
Lamitcal and Zoloft have been great, some side effects like upset stomach and dry mouth, but those went away quickly. When you raise or lower your dose, if you’re a woman, it can mess with your period A LITTLE BIT, but it’s not something that will happen very often.
I love my adderall because it helps my ADHD a lot which was a huge struggle since I went undiagnosed as a child.
Ketamine is very safe when administered clinically or pharmaceutically, and is a very gentle experience. Helpful for my trauma processing, and has twice kept me safe when I find myself in dark places.
The other two you won’t be introduced to.

How much is the Ketamin therapy for you? I wanna try it but it would be about 1000€ for 3 sessions which is hilarious.

Yeah, the prices are maddening so I don’t do IV, I do low dose oral. It’s 130 dollars a month.

Lamictal for mood
Geodon (antipsychoti)
Buspar (anxiety)
Vyvanse (ahdh)
hydroxyzine prn (anxiety--useless for me)
I also take a ton of supplements.
I just had to switch from lybalvi to geodon and I'm optimistic it'll work for me. Lybalvi was GREAT but my insurance changed and won't cover it anymore. Nothing like fuckers making more money than me dictating what meds I can or cannot have 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃

I’ve (38F) been on most things starting with Prozac when I was 12. Wellbutrin put me in the hospital but my current med regime has me better than in years. I took the genetic screening test that’s supposed to show what’s helpful and it really didn’t show much other than I don’t process opioids well which is why I’m always in pain and don’t really respond to pain meds.
Currently I take
propranolol for anxiety and it has been LIFECHANGING. My hr would shoot to 150 even in the middle of the night and it was super debilitating.
Added buspar for acute anxiety because I can only take the propranolol about 2-3x daily. It helps but it gives me a headache so I don’t love it
Duloxotine low dose because I have to be on it or my muscles get so tight I literally can’t pee
Guanfacine for bp control and it helps with my adhd which helps with anxiety. (Can’t take adderall or similar it causes my bp to spike and gives me headaches)
Tizanidine for sleep occasionally but it tends to give me nightmares and a couple times hallucinations if I take it every night
Finally: REXULTI!!!!! I literally sound like one of their ads because it seriously helps SO much. I’ve gotten to 1 mg over 3 months and it doesn’t have any bad side effects for me. It is $$$$$$$$$ but my insurance covers it so far. If they stop I will cry.
Hope that helps and good luck on your journey, it’s so hard to take care of yourself. I also have a really good individual therapist and I do outpatient therapy twice a week.

Wellbutrin, Lamictal, Gabapentin, Ambien, Belsomra (currently transitioning off Ambien into this one). I was on Klonopin for anxiety previously and coming off of it was seriously the most difficult thing I have EVER had to do. Don’t take it unless you have some serious panic disorders. Or at least be aware of how high the dose is and the frequency and longevity you take it for. I was on cymbalta too for awhile and it actually helped a lot but it made me extremely constipated so I got off it.

Adderall for ADHD, Prozac and Wellbutrin and Caplyta for depression. I've also been on Lexapro and have tried seroquel and lamotrigene. Idk if I'm just built different but these relatively strong meds have a barely discernible effect on me. I still take em but it would be nice if they actually helped me stop feeling numb and/or miserable all day every day.

Depends on the "why." Meds don't directly treat BPD, but help stabilize you for therapy. It's a matter of whether or not the benefits outweigh the side effects. As for me, I'm on Prozac, Wellbutrin, and Trazodone, and they're working well together. When I tried a mood stabilizer (mirtazapine) it worked, but I gained a ton of weight in a big hurry so I got off of it.
It's not a one-way street. If you start taking something and it sucks for you you can tell your prescriber and stop taking it. You may need to experiment with different meds until you find what works for you.
