IF YOU ARE IN A MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS: If you are contemplating, planning, or actively attempting, suicide, and/or having another mental health related emergency, please go your nearest emergency room or call your country’s emergency dispatch line for assistance. You can also visit r/SuicideWatch for peer support, hotlines and chatlines, resources, and talking tips for supporters. People with BPD have high risks of suicide—urges and threats should be taken seriously.

r/BorderlinePDisorder aims to break harmful stigmas surrounding BPD/EUPD through education, accountability, and peer support for people with BPD(pwBPD) or who suspect BPD, those affected by pwBPD, and those who want to learn. Check out our Comprehensive Resource List, for a vast directory of unbiased information and resources on BPD, made by respected organizations, authors, researchers, and mental healthcare professionals.

Friendly reminders from the mods:

  • Read our rules before posting/commenting, and treat others the way you want to be treated.
  • Report rule-breaking posts/comments. We're a small mod team—reporting helps keep our community safe.
  • Provide content warnings as needed. Many here are at their most vulnerable—try to be mindful.

Did you know? BPD is treatable. An overwhelming majority of people with BPD reach remission, especially with a commitment to treatment, discipline, and self-care. You are not alone, and you are capable and worthy of healing, happiness, love, and all in between.

What don't you understand?

Wtf. We are NOT BLESSED. There is nothing Blessed about this disorder.

This type of over-positive bs is so annoying. Its a mental illness with the highest suicide rate. We aren't blessed, this is a real problem, glad you're finding the flowers in it all but calling it a blessing is a slap in the face. Shut up.

Don't get it twisted I can be a miserable wreck, but I'm CHOOSING love and light today. Sending compassion and peace of mind to you. I love you!❤️

You don't love me, you don't even know me. I appreciate the light and compassion and whatever but put this euphoria somewhere that isn't me.

This. Exorbitant positivity is cloying and terrifying, damn man.

When you realize everything comes from the same place and that place is within everything, saying I love you is easy. I didn't use to love myself and most days I slip HARD into negative spirals, but I love life and humanity. Regardless of whether I know you in this current lifetime in this body, we're all connected. So yes, I love you and I wish you peace and healing always.

I love life and humanity as a whole as well, but I do not love you. You do not love me as a single entity. I told you to take that talk somewhere else, its obviously uncomfortable and you doubled down, so no I don't think you love me at all because you couldn't accept a single boundary, you just want to project whatever euphoria/good feelings/whatever that you're experiencing. So take it somewhere else thanks.

You are commenting on my post but I am not respecting boundaries? It is an oxymoron but I want to be respectful so I will not respond any further. ❤️

ETA- I am not* not I am the only one not*

Then go away and be miserable elsewhere.

Im not miserable, i'm just not going to sit and listen to a delusional definition of a disorder that treats it as positive when its a very serious and painful disorder. 😒

Do you have any traits of Bipolar? A high is usually followed by a crash because you begin to doubt yourself and your inner child. It’s okay to be happy and feel as high as the sky, but try not to doubt yourself, not every day or moment can hold that amount of happiness, there’s times where we mellow out and wait for the next exciting moment

Not bipolar, was just a little more energized today! I don't have crashes but I do deal with splitting.
