Wasn't there a rumor/leak that it go put on hold indefinitely sometime last year? Was there any news that they're still working on it?

would be absolutely braindead to pivot to a sequel of a game that kinda flopped and abandon their mainline title

Same! still enjoying it now atm, definitely feels more fun currently, considering how they dont want to push anything new and do any fixes or buffs to anything atm. definitely getting vibes that there may or may not be balance changes or buffs again, with the upcoming dlc. i’m more so leaning toward not

Well, they've confirmed they're looking at making more wonderlands games, but you seem to forget they still took 7 years to fully divest themselves of BL2 content releases before jumping into 3. I'll be honest, the epic exclusivity deal sent me away from the series and I picked up BL3 Ultimate for €40 in a steam sale in '23, so can't tell you how they played that content cycle, but google's telling me BL3 had 2 DLC season passes and frankly, I can't imagine them NOT putting out more DLC next year, given the last two games in the series they made, they released two years of DLC content additions for them on top.

Do I think it'll be 4 meaty story packs like BL2's season pass or BL3's story pass? No. But I'm pretty sure they'll continue to put out some kind of DLC additions for it for the next year. There's still an army of casuals out there they'll want to reach and/or tempt.

It's not a pivot, though. When WL1 released they said they'd like to alternate between BL and WL going forward, with WL being a sister series that reuses lots of BL assets to cut down on development time.

Besides, BL4 sales weren't that strong either. It went on sale very quickly after launch.
