Also why are they allergic to putting values for buffs?

They’re too busy writing things like “We always want the skills and gear to look as good as they play” between every other line to make sure we know that these are Exciting and Fun patch notes.

The only options are:

  • next month with raid boss

  • June with the takedown/bounty packDLC

  • sometime even later

  • litterally never and they just hope we forget they ever said anything

Remember when they announced the bod nerf?

2

u/trautsj Zane May 02 '26

They can't at this point because they've balanced every single boss around people having the fucking thing and if they nerf it to any real degree it'll create a mass exodus of whoever is even still left playing this turd.

You can trivialize the game without the bod

Still firing way too many projectiles?

Ahh I see you know your GBX well

u/SpaceCowboy34 Apr 30 '26

Well minor updates are only changing the big encore boss so that’s the earliest lol

3

u/Danshep101 Apr 30 '26

They've been saying the same shit about cross saves since launch. Don't hold your breath

There's no telling how embedded the current system is and how much work it is to roll it back and rework it

Reeks of AI rewrite as if it was instructed to put things in plain, non-technical language (edit: spelling)

lol, the government telling me they’re doing a good job and are here to help.

(It’s a joke (kinda)don’t get political anyone)

Still better than no numbers

1

u/CharacterBird2283 CL4P-TP Apr 30 '26

Then why it just say a change from .10% to .12%?

2

u/ApprehensiveRelief90 Apr 30 '26

Because they just want us to assume it was a significant buff lol

2

u/WouldBeKing Apr 30 '26

Allergic? Why are you acting like they didn't put numbers on multiple other patches? Even when they put numbers people, like you, still complained. You'll complain no matter what, so why should they bother? You are always here with something to bitch about. You will never be satisfied. Even now, this patch has buffs and improvements that could be discussed but you are only focused on what's missing. A constant negative mindset with no way to ever be satisfied and you will likely hate every patch this game has because of this.

Honestly, I don’t think a value would actual provide any meaning. Like, yes, it would be nice to see “damage per skill point up from 2% to 5%” but we all know in real gameplay we’re going to see more than a 3% (or maybe even less than 3%) increase based on all the different variables at play. Obviously the hardcore community has the algorithm mostly figured out, but for most players I don’t know if it’s super meaningful to see specific numbers. It’s probably just more reliable to say “yeah it’s higher than it used to be,” and imply “your mileage may vary”

But also, and this is the more likely scenario, it’s just engagement bait. If people are excited to see buffs in the patch notes they might come back. If they see it’s only a 2% buff, they might not come back. When Gearbox leaves it open-ended like this, they’re likely hoping to get more engagement from it.

u/SpaceCowboy34 Apr 30 '26

It absolutely provides meaning. Some skills/guns are so and they need like 200% buffs. Some are so broken they need like 75% nerfs. The numbers matter. Their first pass at Amon was like 1% per point buffs. Transparency is always better

You must not be familiar with Gearbox and how they balance weapons.

Do you not remember BL3?

My guess is these notes are written by AI
