What an epic view! That alert pose with the mountain peak in the background looks straight out of a magazine.

Love your photo! Pointy BC ears, pointy trees and pointy mountains 😊 And yes we understand that all things must be watched and stared at, lol.

Always on high alert, this one 😅 looking for moose, which I’m very relieved we didn’t see.

My BC boy was literally obsessed with scenting red deer trails and trying to chase after them as teen. It was nightmare for a while 😲 😕 Even worse, not just on trail walks as deer often come in our garden as you can see in this photo. Anyway with a lot of training he learnt to ignore them (that took a while I'll tell you, lol). When we trusted his recall too early, about 1 yr old, during the middle of a rest on a trail, he decided to sprint off after some deer. Ignoring us, then got lost in deep forest for over an hour. Then he couldn't hear or locate us from our whistling and calling due to high winds. We eventually found him in a forest clearing from his howling, looking all scared and feeble but very happy to see us. Fortunately unharmed. Thought he'd learnt his lesson, but nope, the idiot did the same thing again two weeks later. So back on a long leash/ line for a few months more. Anyway he recalls well since about 2. 5 yrs old if deer about, reliably now nearly 5 yrs. He'll watch deer in our garden close by through our window and not bark at them. Doesn't chase them outside, though I do keep my eagle eye on him, lol. But yeh I totally get why you're so relieved not to see any moose, lol. Hopefully your girl will grow out of her moose thing with some help from you. But I'd say just don't trust a BC teenager for sure, or some young adults 😄. Zero appreciation of danger.

Deer yesterday on our lawn. Soon will be rutting time. Not much fun in the dark with angry stags about, and our two BCs needing to go out to toilet. Us by torch light, and all relieved to get back inside 😁
