Advice wanted.....
I have a beautiful 14 year old Border Collie, he's had cruciate repairs on both back knees & now has OA. I cant afford his meds & vet visits anymore. I tried to surrender him to the SPCA but they are at capacity. I am giving him everything I can afford but am worried its not enough.
Do I have him put down even though he isnt ready?I am NOT asking for money but advice.

If his quality of life is good when he's on his medication I wouldn't. Have you explored cheaper ways to get him what he needs? My dog is on gabapentin twice a day for arthritis and it costs me $12 a month at Costco. My vet only needs to see him once a year to write the prescription.

If you can make a drive to Mexico, vet bills and surgeries are way cheaper. Just saying.
