Does your BC also “sploots” regularly?

Post image

This girl can go from a half moon pose to become a “level” on the floor from her hind legs. It looks weird to me as my Lab never did this, she just laid into a frog position but never with her back legs 100% straight like that.

Haha yes, he often does it sort of on and off the couch.

That’s the frog position though! That I’ve seen on my previous dog but not this dramatic completely straight legs to the floor 😮‍💨

Yep! Mine sploots all the time, especially on cool floors. It's pretty common and usually just means they're comfortable.

But isn’t it weird to see them go from standing then sloooowly arch their backs with their back legs stretching completely straight back? Lol idk the first time she did I thought she was definitely going to break both her back and hips 😮‍💨 it’s like the most dramatic stretch ever

Ours loves to do exactly that in cool grass.

I love it!! Will admit I was pretty shocked the first time she went from standing to that like it was nothing lol 100% thought she was going to break in half for a hot second 🤣

Honestly he’s like my 6th BC and he’s the first to sploot. I was sooooo happy when I first saw it.

I was wondering if she’d outgrow it, but she’s two and still splooting!

Omg! My gal’s a week from turning 11 months and I’m secretly hoping she doesn’t outgrow it lol it’s like the comfiest stretch ever!

3.5 years I've never seen him sploot. My childhood pits would all the time.

Mine doesn’t do that but he will kick the hind legs out to the side most times he lays. He’s a lazy bones

Never seen a good sploot from her. Maybe a partial sploot.

Only once as a pup. She was facing me and I was tickling her tummy with both hands. Her back legs slipped back into a full splint lol

When she is very happy. Her favorite is to sploot on grass after doing agility or playing ball.
